Great gravel tire
700 x 45...amazing tires on loose gravel, they do buzz on pavement, but I have yet to find a tire with more feel and traction. Great for class 6 roads. Sidewalls are a little weak as the only downside...not for those who ride mostly pavement
Rides Like a 29er Tire...
Ok, so what does that mean? Well, this tire surprised me, it handles more like a tire you'd find now on a 29er mtb. I ride a mix of paved road, gravel roads and single track trails on my bike and this tire is quite amazing on all 3 surfaces. It's grip on fast and tight single track is impressive and doesn't slip cornering on dry gravel. Super easy to set up tubeless with an air compressor and has a supple ride feel for being only 60tpi... feels more like 120tpi. Super impressed!
Good if you are willing to accept the trade off…
A very fast rolling tire for a knobby. Very cush ride quality. They seat of the pants feel is that of an efficient tire to pedal. But… puncture resistance is abysmal. I never had so many flats, so many punctures that sealant wouldn’t seal, or a tire so unwilling to take tubeless plug strips. I finally took them off because I got tired of dealing with punctures. They ride nicely but it got to the point where it wasn’t worth it. Getting a flat every third ride is unacceptable, and they are impossible to plug. I even tried a second pair, I liked the other attributes so well, but it ended the same way. Money wasted. Oh well. Lesson learned
super pleased
2018 Cannondale Slate - Lefty Fork Rigid. One of my favorite bike all time, OEM tires good but Road oriented. The Resolute came recommended by the head wrench at my bike shop, what a great call. As noted they’re a bit noisy like the best in class gravel tires. Totally competent in gravel, the most controlled slide of any tire I’ve used. Unweight them to have handle like a good quality Road tire. If you want that slow speed instability that allow for much better low speed maneuvering. TRY THEM
Excellent wide tire!
These tires puff up to wider than the stated 42mm: on my rims, which have an internal diameter of 19.5mm, the Resolutes end up being a tad over 44mm wide. So, just be aware of that if your frame has limited clearance. If you CAN fit these tires, and need high volume and good off-road traction, these are terrific. Durable, relatively long-lasting, and a nice smooth ride. They're even okay on smooth pavement.
Good rolling commuter - inspires confidence
These completely changed the feel of my COVID-19 Craigslist special. I'm not a serious biker but I needed something better than the semi-slick 700x32 that came with the bike, and while these have a little more drag, they seem to roll surprisingly well and should work out great as my commuter until it freezes. These are really grippy up gravel hills and feel great in corners. I'm also loving the tan sidewalls.
Performing as billed
4 stars because I’m a tough grader and because I have fewer than 100 miles on these. But, they perform well on gravel and dirt and in soft sand and in a little mud. They shed mud well. Also roll smoothly, quietly, efficiently on pavement. So far very happy with them. Like the tan/reddish sidewalls.
Casing too thin for off-road trails
Casing is very thin road bike style casing that has little sidewall support. I had to use a higher PSI than my OEM tires, despite these being wider. Also were difficult to seat tubeless, requiring 5-6 deflation and inflation cycles with an air compressor before they finally seated. I recommend against these for riders who take their gravel bike on off-road trails.
Great gravel tire
On my 4th and 5th Resolutes so obviously I like them a lot. Wide enough for deep gravel and dependable traction on all off-road surfaces. Light enough to be easy to pedal compared to my previous Thunder Burts. Using on a Salsa Cutthroat.
Weak tire with poor quality control
In over a decade of cycling, this is by far the poorest product I have dealt with. Difficult to seat, doesn’t hold air and punctured in the tread on asphalt. Not too sturdy for a tire marketed towards gravel roads… I would jot recommend this product. It is unreliable and this is made worse due to gravel being an area of cycling centered around long distance, remote routes.
