Good except for roller

The Fluid 2 trainer with the metal roller was out of stock indefinitely so I bought this version, it was all that was left. It's a great stand, it's smooth, sturdy and easy to set up and take down. Only problem is the roller is plastic and after just a few weeks of use there's a huge groove that's getting close to wearing all the way through. And, we had very light tension on the tire. Get the Fluid 2 if you can. I'll be returning this one for it when stores reopen.

The Commute Substitute

Great trainer and perfect substitute for my commute. Setup took around 10 minutes (including rear skewer swap) and works exactly as expected. Probably around 20+ hours ridden on it and no signs of wear. I wouldn’t say it’s loud, though does produce a consistent hum heard quietly from other rooms.

Good, Basic, Exerciser

This has provided a good way to get heart rate up and work the legs in this time of social distancing. Feels close to the workout of my previous bike commute to work that I miss so much. Fairly easy to set up and has performed solidly without issues for several weeks now. This doesn’t have any display showing cadence or effort, etc. but I set the gears and pedal to match my former feeling of effort from commuting all those years. Have also thought of using my chest strap heart monitor for heart rate. Seems good to be using your existing bike as part of the equipment rather than replicating that in an exercise bike. It’s great that it has a quick release to remove the bike for a regular ride when you want.

Well-designed and well-made product

This trainer arrived sooner than expected and was easy to set up. I’m using it with a 30 year old mountain bike (26-inch knobbies) and it runs fine. The knobbies make it a bit noisy and a smoother tire would be better but a perfect opportunity to repurpose my old Sharper Image noise-cancelling headphones. My one complaint is that it seems tilt slightly to the left - not enough for me to figure out why or how to correct the tilt. May not be the products fault.

Don’t waste your money

Got the Saris Fluid Trainer a week ago. First of all, the assembly instructions appear to have been sketched by a 5 year old: you can’t tell which side is up or down. Worst, after only 3 or 4 sessions, the trainer is literally disintegrating. The roller is visibly worn and spewing dust all over the living room.

Better than expected

I was not expecting a whole lot from a $250 trainer and was pleasantly surprised. This was easy to setup and my girlfriend could not be any happier with it. I have tried it out as well and it runs very smooth. Downside is that its a bit loud, you can expect noise with any trainer but with earbuds in you don't even notice.
