Can’t be levelled.
Unfortunately, I had to return this unit. I’ve been battling with alignment issue for a few months however I believe the product is defective. It is significantly leaning to the left especially when the bike is installed. Making it uncomfortable to ride. And that after proper alignment per instructions levelling the base .
Not a fan of the additional movement
The Kickr Move was pretty easy to set up and start using. I previously had a Kickr Core that has lasted 4 years but just developed a bearing issue. I was drawn to the concept of the Move, but unfortunately I found the fore-aft movement to be very strange, especially when standing up on the pedals up a (virtual) hill. It felt opposite to me of how standing up feels on the road. After locking out the fore-aft movement, it was definitely better, but it turns out I don't even like the side-to-side movement offered by the axis feet. No issues with the product aside from personal preference (working order is 5 star, preference is 1 star). So back to another Kickr Core for me!
Game changer
I had been using a rocker plate and a kicker core. Decided to upgrade. Let me say. This thing is nite and day difference. I also have the climb on my set up. I’m a pretty big guy and staying an hour was pretty miserable. Now I can stay an hour+ with acceptable discomfort. I really do like this set up!! I had a Little issue with the internal cadence sensor not being correct. I just switched to a shoe mounted sensor and pedal On. Love it.
Ironman tested and approved
12,000 miles and counting, more accurate than my on bike powermeter. Updatable and reliable, 3 years and counting
don't buy this from REI
This is a review of REI, not the product itself. It took 2 weeks for REI to ship this product to my store, and I received an apparently returned or open-box item that was poorly-packaged. It was broken out of the box as a result, so I had to ship the item back to the manufacturer and wait another week for a replacement (kudos to Wahoo support).
Quality issues, Wahoo?
I honestly don’t know what to say yet! I’m on my second Move. The first one had a humming sound so customer service at Wahoo asked me to send it back. Second trainer has the same sound – and also now there is a rubbing sound as the Move goes back-and-forth. Is worse. This is my first trainer and I’m a novice when it comes to road bike and was treating myself with us. I don’t know a ton about bike mechanics, so for a newbie I’d say there were also a couple issues on the Wahoo site I’d say the instructions on set up were not very clear or accurate and the videos are decent but missing functionality to easily rewind, slow down, and zoom in. Close ups would help too to ensure you match what they did. I’m hoping there’s a resolution so I don’t have to send this one back and move on to #3. The trainer is super heavy to move around - and it’s giving my lower back pain worst experiences yet! I don’t have a garage so this goes up and down a flight of stairs each time.
This is my 3rd Kickr
This is my 3rd Kickr trainer. I started with Kickr Core back in 2019 and loved it over the old "roller against the back wheel" trainer I had. I bought a Kickr in 2022 as I was seeing someone in another state and wanted a trainer at both locations. Once I moved to the other state, she used the Kickr Core, but it died a few weeks ago (lasted a good 5 years) and I bought a Kicker Move for me. While it's a good trainer, I'm not really sure the "move" function is worth the extra $$$, and I've been using it for several weeks though. But they are great products, so no regrets.
quality issues for sure
This is meant to be a follow up to another review I have here. Replacement item had the same sound - and even more issues with a ribbing noise in the carriage. So, being sent a third. Do not recommend this. I’ve seen other reviews online with similar issues. Should be silent, no humming or even roaring sound.
Gamechanger
What can I say, as soon as I started using this thing I feel like I’ve been making massive strides in my pedaling efficiency. It truly feels similar to how the bike moves beneath you when you are out on the road! I’ve never used a rocker plate before but what sold me on this one is how the axis of movement is actually along the ground plane of where your wheels would sit, as opposed to beneath the ground plane. Longer rides feel much more comfortable and I find that I don’t have to do standing efforts to alleviate hot spots as much
Best Buy of the year for me
I’ve got a baby and this is the only way I get a workout in some days when daycare is closed or it’s a weekend. It’s quiet and I just put on a tv show and start riding and I get a workout in while baby naps. The move is better than the one without it and worth the purchase- feels much better to train on this than the previous version. I’m not even a big cyclist but this has got me loving it and I feel so good about being able to workout when I’m unable to leave the house.
