Warm comfortable jacket

This jacket utilizes a "double" zipper and unlike the one on my Fjallraven hoodie, it works slick as a whistle. I've only had it a short time but so far I'm extremely pleased with it, it's warm and cozy, just what I was looking for. I don't climb or trek or hang out in the woods anymore, but I still like to stay warm and dry. I can't comment on how rain resistant this is but I get the feeling you need to treat it with a water-proofing agent from time to time. That's easy enough to do what with all the products available for that purpose. Overall I'm very pleased with the fit and finish and feel it's well worth the money.

Fantastic Jacket shame about the hood

I have bought three unlined Greenland jackets over the past forty years, two of them are still in use, the first I grew out of. Fantastic functional and comfortable garments. So I bought a winter one a few weeks ago, great coat however I would have preferred a removable (or none at all) hood. The fixed one that comes as standard has no adjustment and just flops over your eyes and allows the wind to howl about inside it is a chocolate fireguard!!!! When lockdown ends I shall go to a tailor to see if it can be removed. The useless hood will stop me from buying another Greenland jacket, very poor design.

Poor fit and flexibility

I bought this jacket for active fieldwork. While it was warm and comfy, it felt very small on me. There was very limited movement around the shoulders/armpits as well as the elbows. And when I had it buttoned up with the hood on, it felt restrictive on my neck. I sized up and it still wasn't comfortable. Plus the hood is giant and not adjustable. Fortunately I was able to exchange it for a Skogso jacket for a little extra money and am very happy now! The Skogso even has an adjustable hood and twice as many inside pockets. Definitely worth the price difference.

Great Jacket

Durable and very comfortable jacket. Greenland Wax adds extra water resistance as needed. No issues with layering.

Lovely jacket let down by the fragile teddy liner

I am a big fan of this jacket and wear it most days when cold outside. I love the style and all the pockets. Great for keeping things handy. I only have two suggestions: 1) The hood does not have an adjustment strap so when there is wind it might get blown of your head. 2) I like the teddy lining, but it is fragile and reduces the life expectancy of the jacket to a few years. Especially around the waist and shoulders. I hope the lining can be replaced as otherwise the jacket becomes useless and ends up in the bin.

Warm coat, garbage hardware

I have had this coat for just over two years. I have worn it regularly in the New York winters for both of those years (2018-2019; 2019-2020). Tonight, when returning home from walking the dog, the entire zipper assembly fell off. The whole thing. Top and bottom. Both halves of the zipper. Suffice to say, a winter coat that doesn’t zip is pretty much useless. Suffice to say, I am a furious, extremely unhappy customer. Suffice to say, this will be my first and last Fjalraven purchase. Avoid at all costs.

Please please please sort the hood out

I have 3 fjallraven winter coats currently in use for various things. All fantastic. I bought this for work commute as they dont do many suitable ones in black. Not too warm so good fir hopping on snd of the train. But had to send this one back as the hood is useless. Hood sits too tall and floppy with no adjustment. Eithe falls over your eyes or the cold wind fills it like a sail. Adjustment cords would make this a good jacket. And adjustable and removable hood would make this a superb jacket

Poor fitment

Poor fitment. Ordered a Medium as I had the chance to try on a Skgso in that size and fit well. Ordered the Greenland Winter in M and its too tight at the thighs. Upper body and mid torso is okay as are the arms. Reluctant to exchange for a L as I previously returned a Sormland that was akin to wearing a bed sheet. No idea what is going in with the cuts and sizes frfom Fjallraven but my adice is do not buy unless you can try on the specific jacket you want. Very disappointed.

The perfect combination of warmth and weight.

I find the Greenland to be the perfect weight, I usually find winter jackets to be too warm and heavy but the Greenland winter for me the perfect combination, the size is a great fit (I did use the size guide and it was very accurate) and there’s enough room to layer up if needed, yet it doesn’t look too large if I only have one layer underneath. As usual from Fjallraven product quality is fantastic and I’m very happy with the coat.

Sleeves are a bit short for big shoulders

I just got it, so I can't say much as to the longevity of the product. I live in a place with very little precipitation, and water resistance isn't my biggest need (I have a Deb for that). I'm surprised how light this is compared with a stolen Carhartt parka I had that has since been discontinued. I like the fit, the black can be an outdoors coat, and still double as a coat for more formal days at church with a tie. I'm leaving 4 stars because I'm 5'11" (180cm), 215 lbs (97kg) with an athletic build, and a 44" (111cm) chest, ordered an XL, and while fit in the chest feels pretty good, if I raise my arms, it's snug in the back, and about 2" (5cm) of my wrist is exposed. It's snug around my backside, but not a bad fit. I actually like that it prevents too much airflow up my midsection. For more active movement, unzipping from the bottom makes it very useable.
