REI Co-op  Logo Beanie

This beanie is a little bit too itchy for me to enjoy fully. It also slowly stretches out over a few wears which renders it loose and floppy. It requires a wash and dry to shrink back into its original form. However, it is warm. It's fine but I am not in love with it.

Its a little too tight for my big bald head, but its that cozy hot warth which is great for starting a cold day until I get warmed up. Definetely wish it had a little more room because it does give me a headache. Don't recommend for sweat-inducing activities unless you want a soaking wet hat, because it'll make you wonder if youre about to sweat warm anyways:)

Don't waste your money unless you have an enormous pumpkin head that needs to be kept warm. I have owned many beanies over the years and never once had one stretch out. This REI beanie stretches by itself while sitting in a drawer. Afte one or two wearings it was so stretched out that it was falling down over my eyes and I'm a fairly large person at 6' 3" and no bean pole. I don't know how REI screwed up something as simple as a beanie but they managed to do it with gusto here. I own an other different beanie from REI that fits fine and doesn't stretch so I don't know where they went wrong but they went really wrong.

Warm, soft, good value for the price but was tight. Gave it to me wife because it was too small for me and gave me a headache from squeezing my noggin.

Compared to the lightweight beanie this is smaller (less length smaller cuff probably wide enough for most people unless you shrink it). There's 50% wool vs the 30% wool of lightweight and its a larger weave. It is surprisingly warm and breathable. I liked it but decided to return based on other reviews complaining that it's too small. If you're fantastic about carefully washing in cold water then it might not shrink. But this probably has a tendency to shrink and I didn't want to confirm and end up with shrinkage. It's SLIGHTLY itchy but much warmer than lightweight. It doesn't run small or large but washing could put it on the "runs small" end if you aren't careful

Warm and cozy. Has retained it's shape and size over several years of wear. It fits a little snugly on my head, but it's not tight or uncomfortable (I wear 7-1/4 fitted hats, and my partner wears 7-1/2, and it's smaller on both of us than the average beanie). Style is great whether you fold the bottom up or leave it straight.

I bought 2 of these for the "keep warm" winter sale that REI does around this time of year. $5 off, which puts each at a total of $12.49? Come on, that's great for what you get. Snag it now before the sale ends. It's been keeping my head and ears warm - even in 32-degree F weather - so much so that I sometimes have to take it off to let everything cool down. Trust me, you can't go wrong with this thing!

Very warm and fits someone like me with a large head. a 50/50 wool acrylic combination hat for this price is amazing!

I live on the west coast and was in the DMV area visiting a friend early in February. This beanie saved my ears. It was extremely cold (20s-40s degrees fahrenheit range) and I had nothing for my ears or head. My ears were freezing and eventually I gave in and went to the local REI to grab a beanie. They had this sucker on sale for $17 which was the cheapest one they had so I grabbed it. I was not disappointed, my ears and head were warm the rest of the trip. If it's on sale and your ears are in a pickle, I would definitely recommend this purchase.

I'm a normal-sized guy and this thing fit so tight it furrowed my brow and hurt my head. I wrote to Customer Service stating it was defective, but only received a form letter from Jenny ignoring my message stating I didn't feel it was right for me to pay to ship it back to them due to defective aspect, which is gonna cost me at least half of what I paid for the beanie. Have been a member for 23 years and am very disappointed.
