Great running jacket!
I wore this jacket on my first 50 mile run event as it was cool and windy most of the day. It was perfect - lightweight, easy to tie around my waist without being too bulky, kept me warm even in the wind, and didn't totally stink when I was done! I am a cold person, but get hot when I run, so I don't wear very much despite cool weather. This jacket offered just the right amount of warmth and still kept me comfortable while moving. The hood fits snugly, so it's useful, and the chest pocket was perfect for chapstick and sunglass storage in the nighttime hours. I am 5'7", 135 lbs, B cup chest and the medium is just right to wear over 1-2 thin layers for active movement outside.
Tight fitting hood not for city wear
The jacket is lightweight and water repellent. It is snug fitting and cute but does not seem wind resistant. The tight fitting hood is good under a helmet and not suitable for city use. I looked ridiculous when I tried the hood. I read the reviews that it pills like crazy and I can kind of see this material may be prone to form pills. I intended a city use so I would like to be able to use the hood and decided to return it. I also consider pilling unsightly but if you don’t care and don’t mind a super tight fitting hood, it is probably a good jacket.
very warm jacket
This jacket is super warm. I wore it going to Patagonia (Chile) in 10F degree weather with huge windchill and still survived! It's been 3 years and many washes, this jacket is definitely my favorite of all Patagonia jackets I have.
My favorite jacket
This jacket works great for cooler weather outdoor activities. It’s warm, wind-resistant, and the hood zips up around the face, which is awesome for cold weather hiking. I will definitely buy this jacket again when mine wears out!
