Half Gallon Yeti
Love it! It keeps my water fresh throughout the day/week. It encourage me to drink half a gallon a day as we should. I love chugging the water, the flow makes it so easy and I end up drinking more than wanted.
What's inside the Yeti today?!
Absolutely fantastic, durable, multi-use jug out there! I've had everything from sweet tea, ice, other beverages to even SOUP in this thing! Everything is kept HOT or COLD! This is especially useful on those long trips. I wish I had purchased this when My boyfriend and I had our road trip from Southern California to the Dakotas! Would've been a huge life-saver when we got stuck in Wyoming thanks to black ice on the I-80! We are doing a small trip to Sedona and this baby will be along for the ride along with some much-needed beverage that'll be kept COLD! The magnetic surface on the lid is fantastic so as to not loose that cap! GENIUS!!! You will not be disappointed! I bought this with my 20% coupon card and did it help with the price!
It has some issues, but I like it overall
If you look at the reviews on Yetis website you’ll see an overall theme that’s completely accurate: The gasket on this jug is terrible. I didn’t read about it until I’d already purchased it but it’s all true, the gasket both leaks and is difficult to open once closed. I solved this by ordering RTIC gaskets for they’re half gallon jug. They work perfectly.
It leaks
If weight is an issue, do not buy this product. I bought it for myself because I drink a lot of water and this holds half a gallon. I handed it to my wife full of water and she said it was too heavy for her. I think it looks great, feels like a great quality product in my hands but I can't get a tight seal between the lid and the jug. If a water jug can't hold a water tight seal then it isn't doing it's one and only job. If this was some off the shelf product in Target or Wal-Mart then maybe I wouldn't have that much of an issue with it but it's not, it's a hundred dollar water jug. I will try to exchange and hope the next one is better but for now it only gets one star and only because it is aesthetically pleasing.
C O L D for DAYS.
I have not tried this product with hot fluids, but I can tell you that cold fluids stay cold unbelievably long periods of time. It is a HIGH quality item in the YETI line. I hated the 14oz rambler mug (virtually no heat retention), the half gallon jug is awesome. Laugh if you want, but when I die, my ashes are going in this YETI. Laughable, yes, but why pay $800 for an urn that is not built this well :)) It's expensive, but it is a no excuses product - and there are not many of those left in this world.
Rambler- Half Gallon- Quality is unmatched!
Love the color. Bought this for my daughter. She’s in HS & plays volleyball and this never gets knocked down on the court because of the flat bottom and it’s pretty compact. Half gallon is perfect size for practice days & tournaments! & stays ice cold all day. Handle is comfortable enough for her to carry.
High price but worth every penny
First and foremost, yes, it is astronomically more expensive than the other “comparable” brands. But it is worth every penny. Let’s talk about the lid, it beats every other brand in quality and construction ten-fold. The insulation is beyond other brands. The magnetic cap, is brilliant. The handle feels firm. The rest of it is just amazing craftsmanship. You could spend 1/3 the price on other brands but if you want the ice to last more than a day, and maybe last 3 or 4, go with this because it’ll keep your beverages cold longer. The water to come out will feel like a normal bottle, not a tiny spout. Camp? Travel? Get it, it’s worth it.
I use it every day
I use a water jug for work and every time I go out I like having water with me. I used several water jugs throughout the years my last one was a rubbermaid and ice seamed to stay in it for quite a long time but after the the handle broke I figured it was time for a new one, looking around on the internet I stumbled on the Yeti giant rambler OH NO I thought It was love at first sight and I wasn't planning on spending that much .But after buying it totally exceeded my expectations . Ice stays in it forever ,the water tastes better in it, and it is an all around the best jug I have ever used.
Best $100 water jug I've ever owned
It doesn't leak, which was the issue with my $14 Coleman. It keeps water cold. I love that the cap sticks to itself. The handle is comfy to hold and I can hold it with my full hand and not pinch off circulation to my fingers with those tiny caps from that other style jug. It's nice and heavy so if I need to smack someone/thing across the head while out hiking I do believe it would remain intact (unlike my coleman which broke assaulting predators). I'd have given it 5 stars but it wants easy. I dented it the day I got it, which made me pretty sad after dropping a hunny on a water jug.
The best Jug to me!!
Really good Jug for keeping my water warm whole day! The size is perfect, the 1 Gallon Jug is heavy when full loaded. This half gallon size is good for daily use or carry. The lid is a bit tricky, but you can handle both the top of handle and the bottom together then rotate the lid, which would be a lot eaiser to open it.
