Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Ultra Running Shoe I put a lot of miles on shoes training and running distances up to 100 miles at a time. The Peregrines are my shoe of choice for tough rocky trails in Shenandoah and Massanuttens. They are super light weight, drain well, claw through mud, and grip rocks. They provide enough ground feel to compensate for unstable terrain while protecting my feet. If I can't feel the terrain, I will twist an ankle. Ground feel is important to me. With the 6's, after 50 or 60 miles of kicking rocks the rubber tended to pull away from the toe. But I was willing to overlook that since everything else about them was so perfect. That issue has been resolved with the 7's and with over 100 miles on them the rubber is still holding strong. The only thing I would change about this shoe is adding back the gaiter clip that the 6's had, but it is easy enough to clip them on the laces. The Peregrine 7 will be my shoe of choice for the two 100 milers, three 50 milers, and numerous 50k's I am committed to this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hiking the trail I wore these on a 27 mile hike. Purchased them the night before the hike.. yep right out of the box.. 8 1/2 fast walking hours.. variety of terrain, from extremely rocky, to flat fields.. ,, No blisters, no issues. Saucony shoes are about the best fit for my shape foot.. went a whole size larger. Well worth the purchase...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Spartan Beast I bought these shoes to replace my icebugs that had mysteriously gotten too small. I wore them for a Spartan Beast, 13 miles through intense trail and mud. They drained pretty well and kept all rocks and sticks out. My feet only started hurting the last couple of miles, but it was my first Beast so I don't think it was the shoes, just a hard race. The laces that come with these are way too short. I had to replace them with the longer icebug laces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't even need to break these in These are amazing. I love trail running, but never bought specific trail running shoes prior to these. I bought them mainly because I had a Spartan race coming up. I only had the chance to wear them once before the race, and they fit perfectly. Didn't need to break them in or anything. I've now run on rocks, boulders, hills with steep inclines, through mud etc and there's nothing these can't handle. Highly recommend. I also have wider feet, and these fit excellent. No pinching or tightness around my toes. My only negative – I have orthotics, and when I replace the soles with my custom orthotics, my feet are too high in the shoe, which makes me feel like I might roll my ankles. I've decided to not wear my orthotics (that I wear 100% of the time otherwise) in these shoes, and so far I haven't had any foot issues or other concerns that usually arise without them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bottoms of my feet HURT...not enough cushioning!!! These shoes are great to look at and are light as a feather, but the details lead you to believe they are great for trail running....NOPE!! I used them twice on a trail with rocks and dirt and the bottoms of my feet were miserable!! They may be good shoe for just dirt running, but not a good match if there are any rocks or branches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes hiking even easier. I bought these a few weeks ago and so glad I did. I've been wearing Saucony for about 10 years now and now the trail runners. They are comfortable with great support. My feet thank me after each run. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These actually make me look forward to my runs. I bought these to train for a 10k trail run and they worked out really well. These are my first pair of trail runners and I found that I had enough support while being very light. I highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trail Hiking/Running Sneaker They were great looking and super comfortable, but unfortunately they were a bit too wide for my foot. I need a more narrow cut hiker. I hated to give them up.

I liked the width of the perigrine 4 and 5. 6 was too wide for trail running- I slid all over the shoe when traversing hills causing blisters.  Is the 7 any narrower? I love Saxony and would like to continue...

Asked by: Kasey124
Based on feedback and reviews, the Peregrine 7 shoes will run about the same in terms of width.

I noticed that Saucony makes the women's Peregrine 7 in sizes up to 12, but REI only shows sizes up to 11. Is it possible to order a size 12 from REI?

Asked by: Terriks
Unfortunately, we are unable to order a size 12 through REI.com.
