Great tent with some cool features

After doing a lot of research I decided to purchase the Marmot Limelight 4P, and thus far I have no complaints. It is easy to set up with just one person, and it seems like it is built well. My favorite two features are the headlamp pocket on the inside, as well as the door pockets. The headlight pocket does a great job dissipating the light and is really helpful when doing things in the tent at night. The door pockets are nice because they help prevent you from tripping on the door when you want to leave the door unzipped. This is handy when you are repeatedly entering and exiting the tent when setting things up. So far I am really enjoying this tent and hope it holds up for many adventures to come.

I dont do much tent camping anymore as i have a small trailer with a pop out tent but I picked this up on sale last summer bc i still love tents and have had numerous brands and types over the last 30 years so i know tents. i used it once last summer and immediately noticed a couple issues i think potential buyers should be aware of. first of all, at 51 sqft its not really a 4 person tent. 3 at best or a roomy couples tent. love the design inside as it has near vertical walls and two doors. i kinda wish it was a little longer(more rectangle, less squarish) head to toe as it is 92" long. 97"-100" would be ideal. could be an issue for folks over 6' as im 5 10" or 70" but still works wo too much touching of walls. seems alot shorter than stated specs and thats me laying in longest position, The rei half dome 4 would be a better choice for people wanting a little more room with almost same design. ive had a halfdome2plus for years so wanted to try marmot for first time. this replaced a bigagnes flying diamond which was too big for my needs. Be aware...when you put the fly on and expect rain, its best to stake fly doors all the down and out. if u dont do this the roof fly remains almost flat and will pool water on top of tent right over door. it wasnt raining when i used it, and when I suspected this, i did pour water on top and sure enough it did pool on fly. i then staked the fly out and it does increase the roof angle but I have not tested in real rain. not a deal killer bc its fixable but i dont do much rain camping here anyway in the dry summers of california or have the need to stake fly out really bc im old and lazy. but if it does happen to rain/wind i will just stake out the fly! thus I will probably keep it as i do like the size and quality. it just needs a few tweaks to be perfect but i dont use it enough to care. thus only 3 stars but could be a 4 if longer and 5 if taller roof.

Been around the world!

The tent has held up very well across half a dozen trips backpacking, and several local car camping trips. It’s seen heavy rain in Alaska and Patagonia, and some 30mph+ winds in Utah. Held up just fine! It says 4P, but I’ve typically used it for 3-person trips. Fits 3 adults and gear perfectly! Plus you can split the rabidly, mesh, and poles between those three people. So far I’ve only encountered one rip in the rainfly (of my own doing!). Only thing that’s really taken some abuse is the footprint, which is a bit thin when put down on rocky surfaces. I’d recommend just using a tarp when car camping, save the lightweight footprint for backpacking.

Great Travel Tent

Picked up this tent this past summer for Iceland. Comfortably fit 3 adults for 12 days care camping the entire island and did a nice job in the rain. The vestibules were very nice for cooking out of the rain and withstood the evening winds. Slightly large to carry but if Car camping does the job well.

Great mid-height tent

Perfect tent for 2-3 people/gear. Great height to move around without issue. I like that Marmot has created three versions of this tent. This one is perfect for our needs. Not too heavy for a short carry-in. If needed, components can be split between hikers. My wife loves this tent.

Awesome tent

Picked this tent up for a 2 week camping trip with my fiancée and two dogs. It was perfect! We fit our exped megamat duo and two dog beds with ease. The vestibules are really roomy. This tent is completely storm proof- we had some really intense thunderstorms roll through a couple nights and we stayed dry and felt completely comfortable despite the high wind. The walls of the tent are vertical toward the bottom and it really makes it feel roomier and makes it easier to avoid rain pooling anywhere on the rainfly. A+

Easy Car Camping Tent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I bought this tent last year for our camping needs during our travels. We are both amateur tent campers, and it was our 1st time to purchase a tent. We are extremely happy with our purchase. The quality of the tent is unbeatable, and the ease of setup is A+. Definitely recommend this tent for those looking for a high quality, easy to use car camping tent.

Excellent small family tent

Overall, it is good tent, good quality, and rain/storm proof. I love the mesh and it also come with footprint. Note that it is a average size tent (92" width), compare some 4p tent that can be up to 100" (that can fit 4 25" pad)

I love this tent!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tent for my family to take backpacking. My husband is a big guy - 6'5" and it's always dicey when trying to find something he'll be comfortable in with me, our teenager and 1 year old. This tent easily fit us all and there was room to spare. I like that there are a lot of pockets to stow things like phones, headlamps, etc and having access doors on each side is great. The weight seemed spot on for backpacking and it was easy to divide the tent between us so we could share the load while hiking through Canyonlands!
