Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy Backpacking Tent I purchased this tent March 2016 to replace an old UK tent to use in the US. I really like this tent. It is well designed, spacious, well built, and is easy to pitch. The only issues I have is that it is clearly not made for wet weather, or windy weather. I have used this tent in Acadia on tent platforms, in the back country of the white mountains in NH, the north cascade national park in Seattle next to a glacier and now I am Iceland. The tent is a 2 season at best, and the biggest issue I have is that the ground sheet and base of the inner tent leaks! I have camped a few times now in the light rain on grass in a normal campground and I wake up in the morning and the underside of my inflatable mat is wet. It didn't even rain that much. Marmot don't give you enough stakes either They give you six stakes for the tent. There are 4 points on the corners to attach the tent to the ground, 2 loops on the fly (with no string to attach stake) 4 guy ropes, and 2 porch loops. So you need 12 pegs in total to really stake it out. Overall a great tent for dry conditions and can be used for backpacking when split between two or three people, but I think I will have to buy another ground sheet.

Is the packed weight including the supplied foot print? What does the trail weight include?

Asked by: deaninvictoria
The packaged weight does include the footprint; the minimum trail weight refers to the tent body, rain fly and poles only.

Fly and footprint setup?

Asked by: Punk
This tent was not designed for a fly and footprint setup as the short pole spanning across the canopy is supported by the tent body and will not stay in place if you just use the rainfly.
