Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Goggle for all conditons This is my 2nd season in the I/O and could not be happier, I recommend using the Smithopitcs.com website and purchase additional lens for varying conditions. I use the Photochromic Red Sensor lens most of the time it adapts easily to early cloud cover to mid day sun and late afternoon shadows. I also use the black out lens on extremely sunny days and spring skiing and the Blue Sensor Mirror lens on powder and snow days. The three lens travel easily in the google bag and switch out in seconds with the quick release system. It Literally takes less than 2 minutes to switch out lens. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all around but the 5x anti-fog is terrible. I Bought these about a week ago after hearing great reviews about them. They are very comfortable and fit nicely with my helmet. I got the kelly blockhead style and love the look as well as the interchangeable lenses. However, the claimed "never will fog" lenses offer anything but clear visibility out of the box. Within an hour of boarding the slopes my goggles fogged up to the point that I had to just take them off for the day. I couldn't even wipe the fog from the lenses it was as if I was riding in a whiteout. If you consider these as your choice of goggle invest in a solid aftermarket anti fog product. Other than that I have no complaints concerning these goggles

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great goggles for deep powder riding I bought the I/O's to replace my old smiths that the foam had finally failed after a few seasons and I am very happy with how they fit and how they provided great visibility in dumping snow with low light during a recent backcountry tree riding trip in BC this January. My goggles never fogged up despite numerous face shots and rapid temperature transitions as a result of long cold backcountry rides and then warmer heli lifts back up and then back out in the cold, other goggles worn by other skiers were fogging but my I/O's were clear all day, every day. If you want good goggles at a reasonable price buy em.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised, rain or shine Bought a pair of the I/OX in January 2014 and returned them for a pair of I/O because I'm 5'6" and the I/OX was really too big for my face. The I/O fits great. So the website is correct in the sizing. The lens for both are the same technology, and I wore them in 50+ degree rain and -5 degree wind. The goggles did not fog in either. I've switched the lenses out multiple times, and they were a little tricky at first. But after a couple changes I figured them out and now they are easy to change quickly. I'd buy these again, and recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Goggles! I've been teaching snowboarding in the Pacific Northwest for 6 years. I got my Smith I/O's 2 years ago and it totally changed the way I saw the mountain, literally. I feel like I'm looking at the snow in HD with a widescreen. The lenses are super easily swapped out for any condition, and they can be worn with either a helmet or beanie without fear of fogging. My I/O's have gotten me through ice storms, dense fog, super wet downpours, 70 degree days, and thick trees. They handle all light conditions and weather with ease and allow me to focus on having the best time teaching and riding on the mountain, without having to worry about my vision. Thanks Smith!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic Bought a pair of these to replace my first gen. I/O's, they are extremely similar with a slightly updated frame - no complaints. The fact that the lenses are interchangeable with the old version is awesome since I already have a bunch of lenses. Chromapop seems to work well, it isn't a mindblowing difference but I could see well in some pretty flat light. They will fog a bit in super wet PNW storm conditions, but I've yet to find a goggle that doesn't and these last way longer than any other goggle I've tried. The I/O has been around for a while, with good reason. Glad to see that Smith just made some slight updates and kept it in the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great goggles In Utah the weather has been extremely cold and these goggles have really surprised me how they have not fogged up while out skiing. These goggles fit so nice and comfortable I forget I have them on. Getting a second lens was great and easy to change. I used to wear Oakley goggles and thought they were good, now I understand that you might think what you have is good until you try something better. Remember the best you've worn is the best you know, once you try these goggles you will understand what it means. Thanks for such great products

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome large vision goggle for a low price I have been up a number of times with these goggles and I have been very impressed on how well they vent out warm air and yet keep my upper face warm in the freezing weather. I have tried many pairs of goggles over the years, and for the features and the price, nothing really comes close in comparison. The two lenses that came in the box are perfect for any condition that I have run into, and it is nice to be able to switch them out in seconds. If you are on the edge of buying two lower priced goggles (one for white-out and the other for sunny days) or this with types both included... GO FOR THIS PAIR! You will not be disappointed by any means. They look great, I have had great comments from other friends (that will also be picking up pairs themselves), and they give a large range of vision compared to other goggle brands that I have used. Thanks for the awesome product, Smith Optics! I couldn't be happier for the price and quality.

Please explain what the first and last percentage numbers refer to in the Light Transmission Section above.  I am trying to determine which lense is best in foggy and flat light.

Asked by: Skier5
The lower the percent, the darker the lenses. Glacier glasses are generally below 10%. Ski/snowboard goggles listed below 25% are good for bright conditions. 25% - 75% are for medium or flat light. Over 75% is for darker, overcast days. 100% is clear.
