Rated 2 out of 5 by from useless for cool/cold weather - far too porous A nicely designed jacket that, for me, is unfit for its intended use. Yes, the dots reflect headlights effectively. You're visible to oncoming traffic. But the material is far too porous, and lets in any but the most gentle breeze. Consider the following: Q - Why does one buy a reflective jacket? A - To be seen at night. Q - When do we cycle at night? A - More often than not, when the days get shorter. Q - When are the days shorter? A - In the winter. Q - And what's the weather like in the winter? A - Cold. Bottom line -- If it's cool/cold out, you build up *any* sweat, and a breeze happens by, you get cold. Which, to my mind, defeats the purpose of an exterior shell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How did I ever bike without this!? I LOVE this jacket. It's very breathable, but still manages to keep me warm on cold rides. It's not rain resistant at all, but that's not what this jacket is for. It absorbs sweat in the arm (see the black pads on the inner portion of the arms) which keeps me from getting cold on the milder sections of my ride (the sweat wicks away). I'd say this is the perfect Fall/Spring jacket. I switch to my heaver rain coat (and down vest underneath) for Winter riding.

Are the "stretch panels" still waterproof? Or coverd by flaps or what?

Asked by: AlexYo
The RS Zap bike jacket is not waterproof, it is water resistant. The stretch panels under the arms are also not waterproof.
