Good basic ATC

I have the ATC-XP as well which is awesome for catching guys that are 40+ pounds heavier than I am, and for letting them down in complete control. For people closer to my size or smaller though, this ATC allows a better soft catch and it is much easier to let a lighter climber down with than a model with teeth. I've only had this a few weeks, so I don't know about the paint lifespan yet. Overall, it's a great basic ATC.

Very Smooth

At first I was worried I wouldn't like this ATC device because it doesn't have the teeth to help slow the rope, but you cannot tell a difference. I do like this one more because I can switch sides on the device so I do not wear down one side.

Don't get it

Don't buy this go for the black diamond ATC guide with the multi-pitch loops. It's a few dollars more but you'll save yourself money in the long run and it is a more versatile device. I'm yet to meet a climber the disagrees with me on this.
