The material used to construct this chair is very durable. It sits low to the ground to make it the perfect beach chair. At 200 lbs, I feel this chair is very sturdy when sitting in it and when pushing off to stand from it. This chair would be perfect if it would fold with greater ease. When folding the chair it tends to "stick" while at the same time testing your patience and restraint from yelling expletives. It does not take much to shake out some of the debris from the gliding mechanisms in order to fold the chair. Despite the folding glitch, I just bought my father-in-law his own chair.
Got this for a camping trip at the beach -- wanted an "all-purpose" chair that could go back and forth from campfire to beach. For the price, this chair was great. Mesh in the back makes it comfortable for the beach. I enjoyed that it has a higher back than many low-sitting chairs. The "pillow pocket" (where you stuff the chair cover to make a pillow for behind your head) is awesome, as is the cupholder. The reclining feature was also really cool. I will say that sometimes it's hard to adjust the recline to make sure both arms are on the same setting; also, I had to fiddle with it a smidge to get it to close and collapse. However, for the price, you can't beat the versatility of this chair. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I'd love if it came in additional colors and was just a bit easier to adjust. However, I am very happy with it!
I was looking around for a chair that would support my neck, as a 6' tall person with normal torso length, the top of the chair and the built in pillow is perfect to let me relax with my head leaning back. Not much lumbar support, you'll probably want to roll up a towel there. This chair is low, if you want a higher chair for a shorter person (shorter back), the non-low-rider version of this chair would do the trick and it's a bit cheaper.
Yeah, the arm rests jump their tracks, it doesn’t want to fold into transport (it angrily wants to be right here under the sky), and it is loose, heavy, and in the way in your car (it’s sulking). But if you want a high back you can lay your head back in, REAL arm rests (as opposed to elbow slings), a very comfortable sitting back position, and no fear of falling out of it while drinking (did Jackie Gleason leave GCI the design?), this is your chair, at a fraction of the cost of the uncomfortable, gram shaved, packable sling models.
We needed lawn chairs that sat a bit lower for camping and concerts. This chair is awesome. Three reclining positions and sits a bit higher off the ground compared to most low profile chairs. My husband and I (in our 40's) can get out of this chair with little discomfort. We also love the pocket to stuff the chair cover in and covert to a neck pillow. Folds up into a bag with a shoulder strap. Great value for the money.
We bought these chairs for the beach in Florida. They were comfortable to lounge in under the canopy. They are easy to adjust and do not sink into the sand. We sat on them without towels after swimming and the fabric dried fairly quickly.
It's a nice chair. Seemed like a solid build except for the fact that the 3-position reclining settings are governed by the placement of the armrest which was rather annoying. I returned it because it sat me too low to the ground and I had to slouch in order to have my head rested against the back (M 6' 2"). Otherwise great chair just personal preference issues. Guess that's what happens when u order online
I will begin by sayin that this is an incredibly comfortable reclining chair, however since its first use on a beach and really anywhere near sand all sliding points fill up and you will not be able to collapse the chair without some "light" tapping on the sliders. The sand also scuffs up the legs as you attempt to get it unstuck. I hate taking things back after I legitimately use them, but this is one time that I should have.
I purchased 2 of these chairs because the low position and mesh backing made them very comfortable. After about a year of light use (a few camping and beach trips) both became very difficult to fold back up. The sliding points are tight and got scuffed easily and ultimately one of the rivets on a support piece broke. For the price I would not recommend this chair.
We used these in our backyard at our home. After 1 Seattle summer they disintegrated. Fabric has turned to dust and looks like insulation particles as it blows away. Granted, we kept these out almost all days all the time in the summer. If it was going to rain we brought them in out of the rain. But they got so sun bleached and raggedy looking we just left them out. Perhaps they would do better if rarely used. But if you are going to use them, like we did, know that they are heading to the dump after a year. Which is unacceptable.
