Warm, Durable, and Waterproof
Boots hold up to chores around the farm well even during below freezing temps and rainy days. I would have liked a more aggressive lug design as I was slipping more than I would have liked to on the mud. Lug design is also inaccurate on the REI website, but correct on Bogs' website.
I would recoMmend this boot
These boots were bought for my son who now shares the same boot size as me. So instead of taking my Bogs all the time I chose to buy him his own pair. Overall he advised they keep his feet warm and dry. Fit pretty good however these boots seem almost like 1/2 size too small. These boots are a size 11 men's. I also tried them on and they felt slightly smaller from my other Bogs that are 11 size. These boots have gone ice fishing several times this year and will also be used for hunting this year. Overall these boots are a 4 out of 5 stars because of the tighter fit but we have 4 boys and all we buy are Bogs as they are the best boot for the dollar
Incredible!
I do long all day hikes regularly and got these spur of the moment for a hike during rain with lots of mud. I was skeptical of wearing them all day but they were incredibly comfortable during a 6 mile trek through the hills of Sedona during an incredibly muddy day. No regrets. I usually buy 14 for hiking as I’m a 13.5 and no one seems to make half sizes after 12. Size 14 was perfect. The easy on off let me take my feet out to breath mid-day. When I head down to the Amazon next these will be my go-to boots. Cleaning was easy—just hose them off with the garden hose.
Best footwear purchase I have ever made
I wear my bogs mainly in the winter/snow to keep my feet warm. I can honestly say when I am out in the freezing snow, my feet are NEVER cold. I have owned other boots before and no matter how many layers of warm/thick socks I had on my feet would always freeze. Thanks to Bogs, I no longer have this issue. They feel great on my feet: they are cushioned, they support my high arches, and they keep the snow out of my boots. I have no complaints about these. I recommend them to everyone I know; in fact, I even bought a pair for both my father and my boyfriend- they love them too! I will forever be a bogs customer- they're the best.
Well constructed rain boots
These are well built boots. I am writing this review to alert anyone debating about shoe size. I normally wear an 8.5 men's shoe size. After trying a size 9 and a size 8, I found 8 to be the perfect one. In addition, I purchased these boots for my son who takes a 10.5 and my wife who takes a 6.5. After trying one full size up for each of them (men's size 11 and women's size 7), we found the full size down to be the better fit (men's size 10 and women's size 6).
Dry Feet
Perfect height to keep my husbands feet dry when launching the drift boat on the Rogue River. So glad he found them... now I want a pair too!
Perfect boot!
These are so comfortable! I rarely find boots that are wide enough for my foot without being overly boxy. These fit perfectly! I think I might even use them for snowshoeing (Experience to be had still). They are warm and comfortable in snow, rain or just a plain cold day. I wish the men's boots had more style like the women's. It would be great to have a pair of BOGS that would go under dress pants while I am trudging around Boston in an outside sales job (The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5). Make them more stylish for men, and I will wear them as my only shoes all winter long for work and pleasure.
Same boot but feels different
My second pair. This pair seems different and I don't know why. They are very comfortable and supportive but I just can't put my finger on it. I had a 10 before and now I need an 11. Material seems a little different. I was able to wear my old pair all year long but the new boots seem hot to me. Of course they are insulated and rated for below zero so one should expect not to wear them in the summer but I was able to with the old pair and still had plenty of warmth in the winter. I'll have to give these some break-in time in order to really compare quality. I hope it's not the case of trying to provide the same boot by using inferior material. We'll wait & see and update later.
Excellent!
Got an early production pair many years ago, boots labeled 0504/PO893, that just keep going. They are beat up, cut, tread worn off. Finally the reinforcing rubber started tearing loose from the main body, about 2 years ago. Still don't leak! Just think it's time to replace them for working on our hobby farm, hunting, snow shoveling at -20 F and just cross country trekking in nasty wet low ground with heavy brush. Works good on rocky terrain also. Have to head cross country through swamp and brush to get at a beaver dam that keeps flooding our friends property. Only get cold, wet feet when I step in over the top of the boots even with the poor condition the boots are currently in.
Worked well in Iceland
We took a trip to Iceland recently. Most outings from our ship were wet landing via zodiac. These boots worked really well. Good traction on the wet rocks. They even were fairly comfortable for a 4 mile hike down a gravel/dirt road, though I wouldn't want to hike much farther in them. I normally wear a size 9 hiking boot. I ordered these in size 9 and they fit well.
