Poorly made boot
I use these as slip ons in the winter, for working in my wet woods, and on cold season canoe trips. With these I replaced an old pair of Bogs that lasted four years before developing leaks. With the new pair, the left boot almost immediately had a slow leak with prolonged wading. Then last week on a canoe trip to the Boundary Waters, both boots developed rather large leaks on the same day. Bogs are cheaply made boots that will be fine for light duty, but if you put them through much stress they'll soon fail.
Nice tall warm boot
Nice TALL winter boot. They're perfect for slipping on to take out the trash/get the mail, shoveling the driveway/walks, chores, playing in the snow, etc. I wouldn't wear them hiking/snowshoeing long distances (too heavy and you can't dial in the fit like you can with laced boots) but for shorter wears they are great. They're super tall. Unlike the Bogs Bozeman, this doesn't have the handles along the cuff so it's truly a tall boot. Nice for wading through deep snow. If you don't get deep snow or water or mud, these would be overkill. I have a wider footbed (I prefer to run in Altras!) and these fit my wide footbed nicely. The fit is snug. I usually wear a size 10.5. These only come in whole sizes so I sized up upon recommendation of a few other reviews (so as to leave room for thick socks) but I found that the size down was better for me. The 11s were slipping off my heal, even with thick socks. The 10's fit more snuggly but still had sufficient room for thick socks. They have nice lugs to aid in traction, HOWEVER, they still are a little slippery sometimes on smooth, wet concrete. So I wouldn't say these have "good" traction on smooth surfaces. I know the traction is a complaint with all rubber/neoprene boots in general and this model attempts to give more traction than its peers, but be forewarned: it's still a rubber boot and the sole still is not as "sticky" as the sole of, say, a hiking boot. Not sure why the boot makers haven't figured this one out yet. For that reason, docking this a star. But still a good tall, warm boot.
Very warm, easy to put on snow boot
Bought these boots for rain and snow. They are easy to put on. There is a slight ledge on the inside at the heal to help them from slipping. They are durable and have decent tread to keep from slipping. They are crazy warm!
-40F Absolutely Not
While the boots are comfortable, easy to slip on, traction is more than adequate and waterproof, there is absolutely no way they should be rated to -40F. My toes were cold at 40F Above Zero. I am not sure how they came up with that rating, but they should be called out on it and be made to correct it. Certainly will not be buying another pair for cold temps.
Expected a Warmer Boot
After wearing the boot for an hour in temperatures of 30 to 34 F, my feet did get cold. Also, after about a few hours out, the boot was not comfortable. There was snow, slush on the ground but my feet remained dry. The shoe is wide and allows one to wear a thick sock for a truer to size fit.
Solid choice for rain, snow and mud.
Great boots that handle my slightly wider than normal feet better than more basic rain boots. They have handled this latest east coast snow storm (2026) well. Worth the money.
