Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to pack comfort I bought this as a surprise gift for my wife on our last backpacking trip. I packed it in, and weighing in at only a pound, I really didn't notice it at all. I'm not one of those ultralight backpackers, and figure a little comfort is worth some extra weight. she LOVED this chair and made good use of it--as did I when she wasn't using it, which wasn't often... Sure beats sitting on hard logs or rocks while enjoying the fire or cooking!! Seems very sturdy and well-made. Very happy with this purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great LITTLE Chair This is a great chair for kids. Extremely well made, quality materials, and very attractive. I bought this after reading a lot of reviews online. Many of them complained that it wasn't big enough for an adult, but there were a couple who said not to believe those reviews because they were full-sized adults and they could sit in the chair comfortably and without fear that it would break under their weight. I couldn't really envision the real size of the chair in my mind so I decided to believe those positive reviews and give it a try. When it came, I was excited because of it's small packed up size and very light weight. I hurriedly opened it and set it up (which was a breeze) and could see how tiny it actually was...obviously only meant for children. I sat in it to try it out anyway. Ugh. It wasn't comfortable for an adult (I'm only 5'7"), and I was afraid to sit back in it for fear it would fall over backwards or break. If you are an average-sized adult or older than 10, this is NOT the chair for you. But if you are looking for a chair for your child, you can't do much better than this one. Thank goodness REI is such a great company with a great return policy. I returned it the next day and got an REI Flex Lite Chair, a really good, comfortable chair (but this is for another review).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from to the bad review mini = small Let me start this review by saying I'm a proud owner of two Helinox Chair Ones. So when my kids kept stealing my seat and I saw these I knew it was a score! The chairs are the same epic quality of it's bigger brother. But here's the part people seem to have an issue with...MINI MEANS SMALL!! REI also offers full specs (measurements) in the description so if you ordered it expecting MINI to mean BIG give yourself 1 star and not the chair!! These chair are perfect for kids...and yes they hold a lot of weight, my wife jokingly sits in them and yes it holds but again it's a MINI CHAIR so don't expect a full grown adult to be comfortable in one. If you want an amazingly light weight chair for your kids that can fit in a purse or small pack this is the one....especially if you own the one for a grown up, they look adorable next to them! Happy Trails ya'll

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't let the weight load fool you You may mistakenly purchase this item thinking the 265 lbs it will hold, means that a small adult can use it. Don't be fooled. It's to small even for my 13 year old granddaughter. I returned this chair and purchased the bigger REI chair instead and saved money.

This appears to be the best UL camp chair on the market?  I understand the intended design is for kids, but with a 265lb capacity, why is it too small for adults?

Asked by: sydhank
The capacity gives you an idea of the quality of materials and durability. It is NOT an indication of it's usefulness or comfort for an adult of that weight. It is very small, too small for an adult over 4' tall, even though it is "strong" enough to hold an adult. Size matters.

Is it OK for an even smaller adult (5'-2" & 115 lbs?

Asked by: DTakumiH
I'm 6'0" and 180 lbs and it worked great for me on a backpacking trip, as well as for my wife. Don't let the "Mini" fool you. The description says it's a kid's chair, but it works fine for adults, and with 250 lb capacity it can handle the load.

is this chair suitable for small adult? ie 5'3' & 145lbs?

Asked by: Meldog
The Chair One Mini is 17 x 16 x 13 inches and has a weight limit of 265 pounds. It is intended to be used for small children and is too small for adults.
