Helinox  Chair Zero LT

I work as medical on wildfire which means lots of sitting around at drop points in case we are needed. I refused to get a chair on my first few roles this season which turned into coating the butt of my pants in sap when I sat on the ground. I bought this chair and have used it daily for 2 weeks straight. I'm sitting in this baby on and off for 10 hours a day. It's an awesome chair. It's so lightweight and small that it was no issue finding space for it in my 80L gear bag that I take on planes. I think this chair performs well for what it is. I'm not expecting the world most comfortable chair. I personally am ok with losing some comfort and stability in exchange for ultra light weight, durable and packable. But that being said, I find it pretty comfortable. I'm curious to see how it holds up to continued use. But as of right not, if the boogey man stole my chair tomorrow, I'd buy another one. The price is steep (although I got it on sale at REI during Labor Day) but it's worth it to me. This has become my emotional support chair and I will bring her everywhere. I'm 5'2 and 150lbs and it works just fine for me. I could see this chair not working for larger individuals or certain body types.

Excellent chair, super lightweight! It’s more expensive than the REI chair but the way the feet sit horizontally across your seat on this chair makes it far more stable than the way the REI chair has its legs. Crazy comfortable too, comes with a strap for the legs to help you w it h stability on uneven surfaces

I bought this item and was very much looking forward to using it. I finally did just this week. On the second morning of a backpack trip, the insert hole for one of the legs cracked open. The chair was instantly useless, except as the camp joke. I weigh 172 lbs, so maybe that is too much for this chair to support? I was using it outdoors while camping, so maybe that constitutes abusive misuse? Apart from that, the seat bucket is too shallow, and I was getting poured off the front of the chair. Plus yes, you need to be alert for the constant risk of tipping over backward.

This is a good little chair. I'm 6-1, and my son is 6-7. It's a little too short for me, and really short for him. I'd like to see a little taller chair (I know it'll weight more, but it'd be worth it). It's comfortable for backpacking, but definitely get a sturdier chair for car camping. Also, I'd love to see Helinox figure out the feet. I live in the PNW, where the ground in the Cascades is very duffy and soft. The legs sink in, and within 30 minutes, we're leaning and need to move the chair. I finally got some PVC "T" fittings to put on the feet, and it helps a lot.

This might be the best purchase I’ve ever made! Check out the specs: it’s 4.5 x 14 inches and weighs only 1 lb 3 Oz. It’s feather light and very package. What surprised me is how comfortable this tiny chair is! It is more comfortable than other chairs I use to watch kids’ sports games. I might get a second one to keep in my car.

I was excited to receive this chair and try it out. I have two other Helinox chairs and a table that I love. When I first sat in this chair I nearly fell over backwards. I tried it several times and had to be careful in order not to tip over. I’m a female, wear size medium clothing. This chair puts pressure on the hips that is uncomfortable. My other Helinox chairs do not do this. It’s too narrow. I’m sorry to have to return this. I will look at the other lightweight chairs if they have them in the store.

I like the chair, but when I got home and checked it all out there was no 'X-strap' in the package. I have not found a link on the REI site to register this situation, and the Store is 35 miles away. What should I do here?

After 50 a camp chair is no longer optional....it's necessary. I love the chair, it's very lightweight yet durable. Only gave it 4 stars because of the price. I guess you have to pay for comfort.

Not worth the money in my opinion, it failed on day 1 on trail had to carry the dead weight for 9 days on trail.

The chair is light and surprisingly comfortable. My only concern is that it uses shock cords for all 8 of the poles. In my experience shock cords are prone to breaking and difficult to fix. I'd still recommend one as long as you don't think of it as forever gear.
