Like sleeping in my bed at homeI have owned the Q-Core for a couple of years and couldn't be more happy with it. It packs down to such a small size and is so light, but I have never gotten a better night's sleep while camping. My thermarest served me well for over a decade, but in comparison, it is thinner and less comfortable to sleep on, but remains bulky when packed, so it always ended up on the outside of my pack. Backpacking through Slickhorn Canyon last fall, I was really glad my Q-Core was safely inside of my pack and protected from the abrasive rock we were scrambling over.
In comparison to other, similar types of really thick sleeping pads, I chose this one because of its quilt style baffles, it seemed to distribute the air well. I felt the styles whose baffles just run the length or width of the mat did not support all parts of my body as well.
I was concerned with the pop-ability of this type of sleeping pad while inflated, but the Q-CORE hasn't had an issue yet. Half the time I camp with 2-3 dogs, thus the concern.
