I've been wearing these the last three months covering over 200 miles of heinous bushwhacking through gambel oak, brush, and pinon trees. Until now I have not found pants that can withstand this abuse for more than a few weeks, much less in comfort. Comfortable enough as casual pants around the house. No signs of wear and great for heat. These are now my go-to in the backcountry and I just got another pair.
A nice lightweight pair of pants. Fit is great with a little bit of stretch. Trim fit without being too constraining in the crotch. The zipper pocket is great for securing valuables on the water or in the forest. The built-in belt has elastic near the back of the waist to provide a little give when you are sitting. Front pockets are are fairly deep, hand shaped (cut with a thumb area), extending from the crotch area back to the side seam, and are a stretchy fabric toward your skin and mesh on the outward side. New rear pockets have a button-free top cover which keep contents in. I have an older pair which just won't wear out. They still look new.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Love these pants. They are extremely well made. I have a pair that I've washed 30 or 40 times and they look brand new every time I take them out of the dryer. These pants are very durable for their weight but they're not going to take the kind of abuse that pants like the Gamma LT will take. These pants feel so amazing to wear when I'm active outdoors that I hardly wore shorts this summer and have worn them from April to November, even though they're super light-weight, summer pants. I'm 5'7'', 145lbs and I wear a size 30. The 30 inseams were sold out when I bought these but I had no issues hemming the 32.
Great all around summer pants for hiking and climbing. They can take a beating and have the right functions for summer activities. My only issue is they need to be sized up just a touch. My normal 32/32 is on the tight side, and the pockets aren't fully functional as a result. Also, what is with this trend of no belt loops on pants? I get you have the built in belt, but how are you supposed to carry your bear spray? It's bad practice to have it on your backpack where it's out of reach and can hit rocks when you put your bag down. The prauna zions have both the belt and loops to give you the option.
I own the palisade, the gamma lt and the lefroy. I would say that the lefroy Pant sets the new benchmark for the do-all pant for me. The fabric feels more durable than both the palisade (which is very thin) and the gamma lt. It moves well and after 10 days of summer hiking in the Dolomites, it proved to be both very durable and breathable. My favourite part about the lefroy is the fit. The gamma lt and lots of arcteryx pants traditionally have a slight baggy fit for me (28 inch waist and lean), but the lefroy fits perfectly. So even though the gamma lt costs more, I would recommend the lefroy more. Thanks for bringing the improved trim fit to your pants and xs sizes for shirts arcteryx!
I bought these for backpacking trips last week on the Teton Crest Trail and Wind River Range. These worked out very well for the trip. I love that these pants fit well. They are comfortable and functional for hiking but the fit and appearance make them suitable for urban or casual wear as well. The stench fabric is nice too. The pockets are just right as well. I like that these have no rear pockets as I never use these anyway. I like that the zippered thigh pocket is offset to the side so that its contents are not bouncing off your leg as you walk. This pocket works well for storing a phone. I normally wear a 29Wx30L. Since that size is not available, I found the 28S to fit best for me.
These are a great pair of pants! I was looking for a lighter pair of pants to hike with in the summer but that also keep me protected from minor weather and they fit the bill perfectly. They are very cool in hot temps. The cut is very athletic which is a big plus for me. The built in belt works wonders under a heavy pack to keep the hip belt from digging into your sides. The material is very tough and will withstand almost anything. I will be using these also in the winter over top of a base layer and under a water proof shel for the perfect high activity alpine climbs.
I've been using these pants for hiking at temps above about 55 F, and I've been very happy with them for that purpose. The pants perform as advertised - when I'm on the trail, I don't notice the pants. They're light and breathable, and they have enough stretch to not feel stiff while moving. The only thing I'd modify is providing a bit more room vertically in the crotch. I'd also like to see a left thigh pocket added to match the one on the right, but this is a minor want rather than a need. Unlike a few reviewers, I very much like the integrated belt. An added bonus is that the Labyrinth color is beautiful. I plan to buy another pair of these pants, and will have to make an effort to resist buying the same color again!
Awesome pants, great durable fabric, practical pockets (deeper than the stratia), excellent trim fit (will be too tight for those with larger thighs) , stretches for climbing. Very breathable and comfortable - so good for climbs in warm weather, or runs- but not great for cool or cold unless you are constantly moving. I have the dark magnet and light coade. They look somewhat military which I like. My new default pants. The only small thing I don't agree with is the belt, which adds nothing, is a bit fussy and detracts from the usability. A strong 5/5
I was looking for a pair of lightweight hiking pants that I can also wear in the city on the daily basis. I was looking for a slim fit with tapered legs (as most hiking pants are extremely baggy) and had narrowed down to the Lefroy and the Sabreo. I'm 5'8" and around 155lbs and went for The Lefroy in 32/30. The Lefroy fits well from the waist to the legs, but the leg was much wider than I anticipated so I returned it. I already own a pair of Sigma FL in Medium/Short and they're perfect. It's the shame that they don't make a short version for the Sigma SL as any alternations are not covered under their limited warranty. Anyway, the Lefroy are great pants for the price, but they're strictly for hiking only. Looking to try to Sabreo next.
