Arc'teryx  Gamma MX Pants - Men's

I have bought these pants "exclusively" for the last 25 years. I sit on a concrete curb, i sit on wet, dark green grass and I sit on plain dirt,...these pants always clean and without burrs or permanent discoloration. My Gamma Mix are black. I wear Gamma Mix jsut as if they are "jeans" and they are more durable than jeans. I wear these pants all four seasons and even though they say they are insulated,...I keep warm and cool. I 100% ENDORSE Gamma Mix pants 👍🏾 I have worn these pants in Denver, Phoenix, Chicago, NYCIty, Houston TX, Charlotte NC,...these pants will stay pretty and durable for at least 4 month 👍🏾

The best alpine pants for tall people. The fit is perfect for an athletic build - I bought the 34 tall- I’m 6’3” and 190 lbs. I can wear long underwear underneath, and the fabric is stretchy enough that it works. I have a previous version of these pants which is way baggy on me, especially in the lower legs- not great for wearing crampons! Those with thick thighs may find the new fit tight. I love that the two thigh pockets have been returned- previous versions with just one thigh pocket were irritating (why just one?).. The fabric is warmer and thicker than previous versions, which is great. Expensive, but I expect they will last a long time.

I absolutely love my Gamma MX pants—they're perfect for ice climbing! These pants are durable, insulated, and incredibly stretchy, meeting all your needs for cold-weather adventures. They've kept me warm on hikes and ice climbs, even in bone-chilling -10°F temperatures. When it comes to versatility, these pants truly have it all.

I own four different colors in the previous version of the Gamma MX pant. Living in the mountains and recreating and volunteering in the backcountry regularly, this was the perfect winter pant. It is warm, breathable, agile, and comfortable. Importantly, the cuff could fit easily and comfortably over the top of my ski touring boots. It was perfect for everything from wearing around town to ski touring. It could even be layered under a shell on storm days. Unfortunately, the recently updated version of this pant has significantly reduced the circumference of the cuff, making it impossible to fit over touring boots. The previous design was basically my quiver-of-one winter pant, but alas, that is no more.

Great pair of pants. This is my second pair , too bad they don’t make it anymore. They kept me dry and warm while ice climbing in the Canadian Rockies and while mountaineering at high altitude (with a base layer underneath) . Very flexible and resistant to abrasion.

While I appreciate the redesigned pocket layout, I’m not sure I’m a fan of the new slim fit. I own three previous versions of the Gamma MX pants, and all of them were far more comfortable for outdoor use. The cuffs on the new version are too narrow to fit over my hiking boots, and the overall fit feels more restrictive than before. I do love the new Black Sapphire color, but aside from that, the fit just doesn’t work for me. Please consider bringing back the previous design—the one that made these pants truly great.

Great product, I have two pair - Would have given a 5 star review except for the notation below. Blocks wind, waterproof, lined and unless single digits I don't need long johns. The best for walking the dog. Needs 2 improvements/modifications. First back pockets, my primary carry position for a wallet and cell phone (left/right). Second, belt loops for a 1.5" belt - this would allow the pant to carry more weight comfortably. Do away with the cargo pockets, don't use them and never will - worthless.

I've owned previous generations of the Gamma MX Pant, and this is my favorite so far. The fit is perfect. Not too loose, not too tight, just right. They're incredibly comfortable and warm, even when worn directly against the skin, thanks to the soft fleece interior. The quality and finish are immaculate, exactly what you'd expect from a classic Arc'teryx piece. I absolutely love the Mongoose brown color paired with the dark grey logo. A timeless, understated combination that looks fantastic.

The pants great. They provide a nice comfortable inner lining that provides nice protection against the elements. I have used them for up to -20 so far. They have good mobility and fit well overall. I did have to purchase a 36 waist although I am 34 for the legs to fit properly, they fit well in the 36. I also use them on the ice while coaching my son’s Tim Bits team. The ice surface is not heated and often hits -40 in the winter. I look forward to testing them out.
