I recently added this to my camp kitchen collection, and am thoroughly pleased I did. It’s not too heavy (by car camping standards), and is a great size. I have a smaller pan from a set (6 in, I believe) that I was finding to be too small for easy cooking. This one fits two slices of bread easily (for toasting, French toast, etc.), and you can squeeze a third in if you want. The nonstick coating makes it ideal for, well, really anything else, too. Yes, I wish it were ceramic and not Teflon, but honestly, I’m only going to be cooking on it a few times a year. I don’t have any metal utensils in camp, so scratching isn’t an issue (if you do, be careful with them!). It folds up nicely, with the handle either in the pan or upright, with makes for easy packing. It washes up like a dream (nonstick, duh), and so far I haven’t found any hot spots. It does take up space, and if you’re looking to cut weight it’s not for you. But for its size and price, it’s fantastic.
Great pan for the outdoors. Makes cooking just like at home. Looking forward to many more camping trips with GSI series in my camp kitchen.
This pan works great and folds up nicely. I recently took the handle off to use it on my Q1000 to make some nachos. Nothing sticks to it!
Great size, nonstick, easy to clean! Perfect skillet for breakfast for two!
We used this for a whole week's camping trip and it was great for scrambled eggs, stir-frying veggies, warming tortillas, and so far has been great for the nonstick component. I love that the handle folds for easy storage and it was very easy to clean. We were using this with an older propane camping stove and it was great!
Very happy with this pan and even got a second. The folding handle makes for easy storage and is much sturdier than other pans. The pan itself is thick enough. Only con is that the metal can bend but it’s easy enough to bend it back into shape.
We've been using it in the backyard lately because we've been without power so much in Northern California from PG&E. Works great easy cleanup.
I love this frypan! It feels sturdy, packs compact and the nonstick surface is fantastic. It would be kind of big for backpacking, but works great for car camping with my family.
Light compact frying pan, got it for car camping, or use at family cabin... This has become a household favorite!
Pan works really well on the (electric) stove top at home. Haven't had a chance to take it out in the woods yet, but I suspect it will perform just as well over a flame as well. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the handle is a little "fiddly." There's no bale (or similar) to keep the handle from collapsing when in use. It takes a tiny bit of practice to get used to.
