camp stove pan

Nice small pan for 2 people. Heavy pan cooks evenly over campfire. But too heavy to put on top of a single burner. It's deep so good for stews too.

Great concept...not great size

I only give this pan 4 stars because the size gives it extremely limited utility. It's a small pan perfect for a single camper and a one-pan meal, which makes it a great size for backpacking, but it's just too heavy for that. I'd much rather have an aluminum non-stick or titanium pan in that case. So it's weight keeps it limited to car camping...but the 10-inch is so much more versatile, and you can probably spare the space and weight if you're in a car. Already have the 10"? I recommend getting two of those before getting one of each. Build quality is excellent, and I love the hard durable finish. I tried to season it like I would with cast iron, but not only is it unnecessary, but the season beaded up and resulted in a mottled surface. Just use oil or butter and a stainless spatula, and you're good to go! I also prefer to remove the handle instead of folding it. You can nest things inside this way, but it's nice having both options.
