Love this bag

It's easy to carry, packs well, and is very durable. I've used it to develop two long multi-pitch sport routes on limestone (1000m total.) One bottom up, and one top down. It hauls well, and you can put a 5 gallon bucket in it to carry on the approach! You can also sit on the top of it at the belay if the ledge is too small or crowded. Eventually (after 7 years and a lot of days of use) one of the D rings on the strap broke, but I was able to use some stiff wire to replace it. Otherwise it is hardly worn out! I did buy a second one now, since I have some serious days coming up and I don't want to be thinking about that broken D ring.

Perfect pet carrier and top notch haul bag too

Great pack. The ridged sides are ideal. Drug it up Heart Lines for an overnight'er in the fall and now use it as a bottomless crag pack. Can I fit a rope, cams, helmet and bag of cherries in there and not squish them? Yes. Is there room for a few quick-draws in case we see a cool sport route? Yes. Is there room for a tired puppy? Yes.

Wonderful Bag!

I bought this bag almost a year ago. It has been through multiple bolting missions along with a Via Ferrata installation, carrying over the load limit. This bag still has several years left!

Works Well

Was not sure it was going to be large enough for all my work equipment because my coworkers had other backpacks that were 75L and did not fit all there equipment well. When I loaded this thing up I still had extra space! A 70L haul bag gives you so much more room then other "70L" bags. Its not as comfortable as other bags but overall its very easy to pack, fits all my stuff and seems very durable.

Heavy duty beast bag

I got it for light hauling on Salathe Wall route, and even it didn't happen for some reasons, I am still as happy to have the Touchstone 70 as a travel bag for my climbing equipment traveling through states. It's a perfect size, not small, not big and perfect size to be a check-in luggage when I fly back to home. Seems tough enough to serve me for many years even after I get tired of it )

Great Haul Bag

I've had this bag for years and it just won't die. It's been up walls in Yosemite, Zion, Chile, and the Fisher Towers. As well as being dragged all around Alaska. Con: When it's cold the super tough vinyl-laminated nylon gets stiff. Where as the Metolious haul bags seem to stay a little more supple when it's cold. For the price though the Touchstone can't be beat.

Great Haul Bag

I was doing a couple repairs a to my 18ish year old Touchstone and thought I’d see how much a new one would be. After looking at the price I scrolled down and started reading reviews. I was halfway through a 7 year old review when I realized I’d written the review! This bag really is bulletproof. I’ve beat the crap out of it.
