Great for long hard days.
I got my first pair of these years ago and now use them on all my flat bar bikes. I just tried a pair of cheap knockoffs and it was amazing how uncomfortable they were compared to these - yes these are stupid expensive, but they truly are worth the money. Also the cork is more comfortable over the black rubber ergon grips. I found the bar end extensions are not as comfortable on my touring bike but I use them on my mountain and fat bikes.
Short version for Gripshift
Comfortable and well made, don't slip if torqued properly on a clean bar. The shorter version is specifically designed for use with Gripshift shifters, which have a wide rings inboard on both sides of the handlebar that are used to shift. The rings effectively widen the grip, which otherwise would be too narrow for normal hands (as noted in other reviews). So if you have Gripshifts or very narrow hands, get the short version; if not, go with the longer version.
Outstanding grips - the cork makes a difference!
Other reviewers have mentioned that they no longer wear gloves after installing these grips. I'm not to that point - yet - but the cork does make a huge difference. My finger numbness is almost completely gone, and what's left is a result of my poor riding posture, not my handlebars. As I continue to get used to the new feel, I imagine the rest of the hand fatigue will go away (and maybe I'll ditch the gloves, too!). Highly recommended.
great grip
Replaced stock grips with these and what a difference it makes! First the cork is just nicer than rubber, it doesn’t get hot and feels good in the wet. Second, the wider end really helps with hand and wrist pain. They slide on and tighten with a hex bolt toward the end, very secure. Great product!
Best mountain bike grips!
These grips are super comfortable and ergonomic even on the most challenging trails. The bio-cork looks cool and helps to keep your hands dry.
Cork is life
I have always had hand pain when biking. Finally decided to upgrade my grips and got these. I had to adjust them a couple times after initial installation to get the right angle, but they have almost completely eliminated my hand and wrist discomfort. Plus, they look awesome.
Great Grips!
These handlebar grips are so comfortable that I no longer need to wear gloves when I ride. Also, the extra stability from the extended palm pads makes me feel like I have more control of my bike and I get less fatigued as a result. These are great handlebar grips and I highly recommend that you give them a try. I replaced the stock grips on my bike for these and have never looked back.Â
Gold standard for grips
Ergon's happened to ship with my Kalkhoff Satel e-bike - and I love them; perfect high quality grip with the real estate for your palms to manage fatigue. These are awesome - and my only critique is I actually like the rubber grip over the cork by an inch.
Great for swept back handle bars
I installed them before I rode the 3 Speed Tour of Lake Pepin, a two day, 80 mile ride. My Armstrong has standard bars typical of British 3 speeds. I was more than pleased with their comfort. In the past my wrists took a beating on this ride but much better this year with the Ergon grips.
Ergon GP1 BioKork Handlebar grip
These things are awesome. I'm 56 and have been riding bikes since I was 5. I've been on road bikes and mountain bikes over the last 36 years and with all my Army lifestyle injuries, need help on the mountain bike. Get a pair, put one on and ride comparing it to your old worn out grip. You will love them. They are worth being doubale the cost of regulare grips.
