Great grips, QA issues?
Grips are very comfortable and the extra positions have been great to have in the week+ I have been using them on my daily 5mi commutes on an old hybrid with gripshifts. The only issue is that the left grip seems to have a manufacture defect: first off, the cylinder where the bar goes into was too long, which my LBS helped me cut to the right length, also and not really important, the space where the bar end goes had a weird piece that I'm pretty sure is not supposed to be there (meant to be cut during manufacture?) Then, when after considerable trouble, I think due to the cylinder being a bit too wide, we could insert the bar end, it would not go into the handlebar, as the inner radius of the grip was squished in. After further trouble and the help of a rubber mallet, it went in, and it's been secure so far. Also, and I think this is only cosmetic, the shape of the gripshift proper was not identical to the right one, there is a gap where the bar end goes. I really like the grips and I think they are securely after all the trouble so it's a minor cosmetic thing now, thus the 4 stars. I want to think it was an isolated issue and 99% of the grips will be fine. I live abroad so returning it was not an attractive option.
