Great Grips Helped My Wrists!
These grips help tremendously with the wrist pain I get while cycling. I fractured and dislocated my left wrist many years ago and the older I get the more I feel pain in the wrist joint and hand. Before getting these grips I was having difficulty riding my bike for more than 15 minutes due to the pain and numbness from leaning on my hands. These grips are a game changer. They're so much more comfortable than the ergonomic grips that came standard on my bike. And with the integrated bar ends I now have 3 positions for my hands, so I can change before my wrists get sore from being in one position too long. According to the manufacturer's recommendation, the small size would be the best fit for my medium size female hands. However, I chose the large size because I've found with smaller diameter things like this there can be a tendency to overgrip. The larger size is perfect. If you have shorter fingers you would probably want the small grips. An added bonus with the bar ends is that I can sit a little more upright when I want to, which helps keep my back from getting sore. The grips were easy to install (about 15 minutes), are very well made, and feel completely solid when leaning on them. All in all a great product and I couldn't be happier with them!
A squirrel chewed up my grip
The ergon gp-5 handle bar grip is a very good grip. It has survived two crashes and rough weather for a whole year with no issues. I was forced to get another one because a squirrel 🐿️ chewed up the previous one.
Great grips for comfort
Gives me alternative grip options on my hybrid handlebar. Great for circulation and arthritis issues .
Great for People with Nerve Damage
I almost NEVER post reviews since I'm an admittedly lazy guy. But I had to post a review because I want to prevent interested folks from being deterred by the negative reviews others have posted. I think if you install the grips properly, you will have no issue with them moving. At all. These grips have been a game-changer for me. I have a history of nerve damage which makes biking more challenging. I was recommended these grips and took the plunge. They have made my 9 mile (one way) commute to work FAR more manageable. I have smallish hands, but find that the L size works just fine. I love being able to shift my hands around. My major gripe is that these are WAY expensive, but I'm willing to fork over more cash to spare myself chronic nerve pain.
Solution for tingling hands
I've been using straight bars for years. The addition of bar end extenders made little difference due to the fact they were unpadded aluminum tubes lacking any ergonomic shape. This product changed everything. They have a nice contoured shape which distributes the weight of hands over a large area. The junction between the bar and ends is smooth allowing a grip over that area. If you are a rapidfire shifter fan like me and prefer a more upright positioning this is a big upgrade.

Give you lots of options
These grips are excellent. You have lots more options to position your hands when riding which reduces hand fatigue. I kind of like just star fishing my hand on top. Also make pushing a loaded touring bike up hill, if you have to walk, much easier. To install: I have to loosen up the bolts holding my shifters in place and slide them over a little. The grip I then used a rubber mallet to push into place, the handle part then attached and once I tightened the hex stayed 100% put. I had tried to install them without these steps and they moved and rotated.
Handlebars Feel Like a Mercedes Steering Wheel
I saw that a lot of commuters were using these and they are very comfortable. If you have gentle terrain you should be satisfied. Mine move any time I pull on them or push on them on a grade > 2%. I also think the set I bought from the Reading, Ma store was someone else’s before I bought them as they are all scratched up where someone would lean their bike on a brick wall. Do yourself a favor and read the directions and install them yourself. I thought the team at the Reading, MA store knew how to install so I let him do it. He did not even follow the steps from the simple Ergon YouTube video. I have to do a reinstall now.
Just what I needed
The Palm pad works great. Without it, my hands start to tingle on long rides. Once I got the angle right, problem gone. The horns are great too, they have a little rubber grip on them. They are strong too as I have clipped a few trees, one pretty hard, and no bending.
Makes longer rides easier
These work really well. A lot of adjustment to help place your hands in the most comfortable positions especially on longer rides. Very secure. The "flares" on the grips allow you to take pressure off your hands and open circulation to your thumbs. I commute and do mostly hardpack, I wouldn't ride without them.
