Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for car camping . . Kind of bought this on a whim/impulse buy. Really like the comforter and fitted sheets. Was a huge part of the decision making process. The pump was a little disappointing. Takes a while to pump it up and it's not the smoothest pump out there. Love the valve system really allows you to fine tune the air inside. When two people were on it at first it seemed to puff up in the middle causing the one to roll off the side. Once I was able to fine tune the air it solved that slope feeling. Overall was very happy with the purchase. Did a lot of shopping around and this one was by far the best out there. A lower price point would make this an even better buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Air Mattress Bed in a Bag Combo First time I had to deflate an air mattress because it was too stiff. Very Impressed with the comfort and quietness of this mattress. It held air perfectly for 4 nights below 40 degrees F. The inflatable headboard / pillow kept my pillow and head off the side of the wet tent. Fitted sheet and comforter straps held very well despite my long legs and big feet. For the colder nights I filleted another sleeping bag, placed it on top and was comfortable below 32 degrees. Setup was simple and easy so was packing it up. I am looking forward to using it again. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy I am a recent convert to park and camping due to my son's Boy Scout activities. That said, I can't really compare this to other inflatables. I can, however, say that we slept like babies on this thing. Even with the rain pounding away, I was smiling in my sleep. At home my sleeper sofa will no longer be serving guests. It is here by replaced. Not the best worded review, but I hope it helps someone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great for Car Camping Great system for car camping. Fits perfectly inside the REI Quarter Dome T3 Plus. Pump is sufficient to inflate the mattress without electricity. No instructions are given, so it may be useful to set it up at home before taking it outdoors. I used this at about 50F inside a tent with a rain fly on. It got a little chilly and I put on a blanket on top; it was nice and warm thereafter. Would suggest bringing some more blankets / cheap down comforter if the low is expected to be 50F or less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and cozy I didn't think this would keep us as warm as it did. The blanket is thin but keeps you very warm. I love that we can snuggle when we camp now instead of having separate sleeping bags. The air mattress is amazing, I love that there's so many options for how soft or firm you want it. The "headboard" pillow is great for keeping your pillow on the bed and away from the side of the tent. I have already recommended this to several friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Car camping at its finest My husband and I have been looking the perfect sleeping pad since we both have back issues. We've tried many different sleeping pads, as well as air mattresses. Most have fallen short of our perfect nights sleep in the woods. This "system" comes complete with everything one would need to achieve a very comfortable nights sleep. First if the hand pump that blows the air mattress up is fantastic. Its dual action pump which means it shot quite a lot of air into the mattress on both the up and down motions. It fills up very fast, with minimal effort. I love the way the mattress pad, sheet and comforter all are fitted to stay in place all night long. Which it does perfectly. It was clear and cold both nights camping, and we did need to add another sleeping bag on top of the comforter to stay warm. The comforter was not heavy enough to to keep us warm in 50 degrees and colder weather. That is my only complaint with this system. I think we've finally found the perfect nights sleep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent car-camping sleep system! I purchased this yesterday at REI, and slept on it overnight, so my review is based on that. I will test it further later this year on camping trips. The mattress in this system is the Queen REI Relax Air Bed, I advise you to read the separate reviews for the mattress itself (also sold separately at REI). As a 20+ year user of various self-inflating foam-core mattresses, I have been interested in making the switch possibly to a wider mattress with more room for car camping (I find I sometimes roll or slip off the edge of those mattresses during the night, and then have to shimmy back up onto it while zipped into my sleeping bag). I'd also considered the notion of a more luxurious 'home-type' bed with a queen-sized air mattress, but there was still the dilemma of either a more restrictive sleeping bag placed on top of the mattress, or trying to use sheets and a comforter (or a sleeping bag zipped fully open on top) - neither of which would really stay 'tucked in' to the air mattress, which could be a problem on colder nights. REI has solved this beautifully I feel with this Kingdom Sleep System. First of all, the Queen air mattress is very comfortable, you can inflate it to your liking (softer to very firm, I like a firm mattress and was able to pump it up to very firm support), And while an air compressor would likely help speed the mattress inflation, I went with the enclosed hand pump, and while it admittedly took quite a few strokes to inflate the mattress, it really did a great job, nor was it anything excessive, so pretty easy in my opinion to inflate it inside your tent with just the included foot pump. The air mattress seems to be of very nice quality, comparable comfort and quality-wise to the Aero Bed I own for house guests. The genius of this system is first a very nicely padded and cushioned mattress pad, with elastic straps and pockets that attach it firmly to the air mattress. Incorporated into the top of the mattress pad is an inflatable headboard (utilizing the same one-way air inflation valve and foot pump as the air mattress itself). The headboard is great at keeping your pillow(s) on the air mattress during the night, and not squirting out from underneath your head onto the tent floor behind you while you sleep. The enclosed top bed sheet and quilted comforter (think of it as a fully-opened sleeping bag without any zippers) both have elastic pockets at the bottom corners, that keep them filmily in place during the night (no cold feet!). They also attach (or detach) from each other using fabric loops and small plastic tees. The comforter cover is sized very large (it hangs over amply on either side), so no cold drafts of air getting in on colder nights. All of the fabrics (mattress pad, top sheet, comforter cover) are polyester according to REI, but they are very soft and comfortable, they have a nice quality-feel to them. Lastly, I slept very well on this overnight, it felt as comfortable to me as my home queen-sized bed! For myself, this system was exactly what I was looking for as part of my camping regime, and I'm sure I will enjoy if for many camping nights to come. The queen mattress is quite large however, so I would advise you to consider carefully if you have enough room inside your tent to accommodate it, with ample room to get around it, and for other gear in your tent, if you need that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you need in one bag Bought this during the Memorial day sale for $179.- Would not recommend for cold or winter camping but this is great for an easy, mild weather trip. It was in the 50's at night during out first trip and the system, very comfortably, gave my boyfriend and I two great nights of sleep. The set up and packing up was super easy. My favorite thing about it is how the bottom blankets fit around the air mattress itself like a pocket so there was no middle of the night sheet shifts with cold air coming in at your feet.

Can the sheets and comforter be washed? If so, how?

Asked by: Matty Hoff
The washing instructions for the Kingdom Sleep System are as follows: - Hand wash or machine wash warm (only use a front loading washer) - Mild soap or detergent - Rinse thoroughly - Do not wring - Air dry or tumble dry low in a heavy duty dryer - Do not iron - Do not dry clean - Do not use bleach Nathan Sport Wash would be a fine choice for detergent. http://www.rei.com/product/837238/nathan-sport-wash-laundry-detergent-42-fl-oz

Does the provided pump fit in the carry bag? Does the total weight of 15.9 lbs. include the pump or is it excluded? If excluded, how much does the pump weigh? Lastly, is the same pump provide for both the sleep system as well as REI's single air mattress?

Asked by: Seattle Shawn
Everything (pump and all) fits in the carry bag, but it is a fairly large bundle with everything included. If you have access to an REI store, I'd advise you to go in and see the size of the bag in person. The total weight (15lbs. 9 oz..) includes the pump. The single Kingdom sleep system doesn't come with an air mattress included, you need to buy the REI Single Relax Air Bed separately (the Queen system comes with the REI Queen Relax Air Bed included). The same pump will inflate both size mattresses (Single and Queen), as well as the (removable) inflatable headboard that slips into the mattress pad.

Can the queen size Kingdom Sleep System fit inside the Half Dome 2 Plus tent? The width for both is 56", so I know if it does fit, it will be right up against the walls of the tent, but will it fit?

Asked by: KSRcamper
The Queen Kingdom Sleep System is too big for the REI Half Dome 2 Plus Tent.

Why won't this sleep system fit in a REI quarter dome 3 tent? The tent's floor dimensions are larger than the dimensions of the sleep system.

Asked by: Jared
The dimensions suggest the mattress would fit in the tent in 2 dimensions. However, when we take into account the angle of the walls moving upwards and the 6 inches of thickness in the mattress, it’s very likely that you or your sleeping bag will be touching the walls of the tent and drawing in moisture or condensation.

Will this fit in a Kingdom 4 tent? Can you still use the center room divider?

Asked by: 65BAJA
The Kingdom Sleep System will fit inside the Kingdom 4 Tent. It will not fit in the back room with the divider in place. The mattress is 6 inches too wide.
