Cortana meets the GoalZero Rock Out 2 Speaker

The Goal Zero Rock Out 2 Solar Speaker integrates multimedia messaging with windows 8.1 mobile phones. For those who are seek a hands free personal assistant to help them with their daily reminders, plans, appointments, and messaging, the Rock Out 2 Solar Speaker integrates perfectly with the Windows 8.1 Mobile phone. In this demonstration I am using a Nokia Lumina 635 connected via Bluetooth. While the Solar Speaker is designed to give you great audio sound from it's 2 speakers, 2W amplifier and it's DarkBass™ chamber allowing massive airflow for deep, precise sound. It runs for 10+ hours on it's internal 800mAh battery and charges in the sun from its built in solar panel or any USB power source.

I LOVE THE ROCKOUT SPEAKER!

I bought this for my husband for father's day along with a couple more items and he has enjoyed his products. we went out to the country side this past weekend and definitely put the Venture Kit, Lantern and Rock Out Speakers to good use and charged them with the sun! definitely enjoyed being outside for long periods of time knowing our phones and iPods were charging the whole time. we were a little worried about the products when sudden showers hit and the items were outside and got soaked. not to worry, these are weather resistant! thank you Goal Zero for creating great products for the whole family! we look forward to getting more.

Unsatisfactory Battery Life

I recently purchased the Rockout 2 Solar. I have used it just a few times and I am concerned about battery life. Before each use the unit is fully charged, placed so the solar panel is in sunlight and connected via bluetooth. The initial play time did not exceeded 4 hours and subsequent play times have continued to decrease. When I purchased the unit I anticipated being able to use it at least 8 hours or even longer so long as the solar panel was exposed to sunlight during use. I believe that either my unit is defective or the listed specifications are incorrect. Charge Times: built-in Solar: 8 hours USB Source: 2 hours Run Time: Wired: 10+ hours Bluetooth: up to 10 hours

Bad battery.

So i got this for daily use and i charge it nightly. The first day it did last for ten hours, but over the course of two weeks the rockout 2 went down to eight hours of use, then six. Now it lasts about two hours. I have only had it out of the box for three and a half weeks. And it for sure does not charge while it is playing. If you leave it in the sun it will still die two hours in. Maybe i just got a bad one. Maybe this website scrubs it's negative reviews. But i wouldn't really suggest this speaker unless you only needed it for a trip. A novelty at best, and doesn't deliver what it promises.

Perfect for small outings

I got this product for canoe trip. I got to have my music going down the river and this product worked great. Good sound, blue tooth hook up is cool, solar charging is good but if you use it and charging at same time ,you'll still run out of juice faster when charging depending on how loud you have it. It would be nice if the unit could also charge what unit you have that provides the music. If you have any of the solar nomads, use it with the rock out, you'll have music all day. Over all great product! I've been pleased with all of goal zero's products I have purchased!

Terrific Fun!

I own a number of Bluetooth devices that get used all day, every day. I bought this one on a lark, knowing that I might not use it that much, but I surprised myself. I attached ti to the Roll Bar of my Miata MX-5 convertible and drive the Rustic Roads of Wisconsin listening to all sorts of commercial free internet based music, not the radio in the car. I am charging it while I drive via sunshine. One suggestion I might have is to charge it thoroughly before using, otherwise it shuts down in a frustrating way...otherwise, I am having too much fun!

Great Sound

The sound and the Mic of the Rock Out 2 Solar Speaker are amazing. The Mic can pick up the conversation even from a distance. I love the solar panel attached to the Speaker because it provides the independence from the grid. It takes a little bit less than 8 hours from empty to fully charged when exposed directly to a strong sun. The buttons on the outside of the Speaker and the Bluetooth are great features. I just wish that there is a button for checking the battery status of the Speaker just like on the Switch 8 battery.

I love the updates

My first pair was the second generation (non solar / non Bluetooth) version. They were great but the short cable became an annoyance when I was hiking and trying to take pictures or answer texts (my eyes are not what they used to be...). I have been using these with the Bluetooth and just love the freedom they provide! They sound great at any volume and are able to provide more room filling sound then you would expect.

Good sound with bad battery

I bought the speaker for a canoe trip and was really only able to use it about 6 times out of the 40 days. I found the sound quality to be really good but the battery would only ever charge through USB and it would not last the 10 hours. Practical maybe if you have a lot of time to charge it but I would not recommend it if you are tripping or hiking.

Great for the car.

None of my vehicles have Blue Tooth and I am on the road a lot. This really works well synced with my iPhone. It also doubles as my hands free. I will echo some of the sentiments about battery life as I am not sure it will last 10 hours, 6-8 maybe. None the less, the sound is good and the ability to charge from the sun is even better.
