Turtlebox Audio  Ranger Speaker

I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my grandson. I wanted it to be fully charged when he opened it. I looked inside the box, studied all the small print instructions included and could not find where they included a block to connect the charge cord to. The least this company could have done is included a block with the product so that process could happen. They don’t inform you of this beforehand and expect you to already have this block. Therefore, I had to purchase the specific kind of block in order to get the Ranger charged. This company needs to do better. Please take this into consideration when contemplating buying this product.

This speaker is great! It definitely sounds better when it has some sort of “sounding board” such as a wall or other somewhat solid surface behind it to catch the bass notes and amplify them. I tried it hanging from my disc golf cart handle and it sounded much better when place inside the cart near the front opening. My biggest disappointment was to learn that this doesn’t pair with my Gen 2 Turtlebox. It would be great if Turtlebox offered a “trade in” for credit so loyal customers could upgrade to Gen 3 etc. I’m sure with all the cool collaborations and sponsorships that Turtlebox does, they could find good homes for the older versions. 🌞🇺🇸💕

While I was skeptical about the size of the Ranger, a friend of mine bought it and as soon as I saw the strength of the magnets I was sold. It is plenty loud and strong enough to stick to the tubing on the roof of the side by side and it rides all day. I brought it to work and had it stuck to the ceiling while bouncing across corn beds on the farm all day. It was loud enough I don’t think I ever got to full volume. It never fell off, and the battery was at 3/5 bars after 10-12 hours of playing continuously. Time will tell how the battery holds up, but for the overall rating I would 100% buy this thing again and again.

I was very excited to get this product but just as disappointed when I first tried it..I love the color options, easy connectivity, and simple button layout. But The most important thing is the sound quality which was very disappointing in comparison to other cheaper products on the market. For a speaker that’s meant for outdoors the volume has to be kept extremely low in order to avoid distortion,which means you can hardly hear these speakers if your environment isn’t extremely quiet. With that and also paying almost 3 times more than any other speaker in its class makes this purchase very disappointing For me.

Straight out of the box it was underwhelming. The sound quality at mid to high volume wasn’t near what I expected. Took it to work one day and It didn’t last 3 hours on full volume before any and all bass notes started buzzing like a cheap subwoofer in the back of a 2002 Toyota Camry. I love my gen 2 so you couldn’t imagine how disappointing it was that this not so inexpensive speaker was such a piece of junk. You could probably get the same performance out of a JBL for half the price. Spend the extra money on a gen 2 or 3 I promise you won’t regret it. In the process of returning right now.

Our anniversary is not till July 3 so I ordered this the end of May after memorial day and as of today June 4 I’ve had it for two days. My husband came home from work today and I was super excited to give it to him. I was not waiting till our anniversary. It was just too good. The monogrammed initials the different color bumpers all of it and because I did get it personalized the website did tell me it would take about 4 to 6 weeks to get here and I got here in less than two weeks. Start to finish. Absolutely love sound is amazing and it’s even magnetic did not know that.

So, I use this speaker for my outdoor TV so I can hear it over my spa when it's running. I left it on the spa and closed it when I was done without realizing the speaker had fallen into the spa. It stayed submerged in my spa at 104 degrees overnight for 24 hours. When I back the following night and realized what happened, I thought I had just ruined this brand-new speaker. I turned it on immediately just to see if it would work and it did! Like nothing happened. I'll add the charge port was closed. I'm not saying to try this, but I thought it was pretty impressive.

Today on my way to the golf course while I was loading everything up I stuck my turtle box ranger onto the front of my car and forgot to take it off. I drove for about 7 minutes going 65 miles an hour down 61, when I thought omg I left my speaker on my car. I immediately pulled over and was scared to death it had flown off. It was a birthday present from my mom I had just gotten on the 30th. You have no idea the wave of relief that I got when I saw it had stayed on the front. You guys have created a truly amazing product, and I would hope to hear back from yall.

Initially I was interested in the Gen 3 but ultimately I decided to purchase two Rangers instead because the price was very close (at the time). I prefer the sound of two speaker stereo over a single speaker. Using one sounds good but two together sounds amazing. When you crank them up it’s impressive my friends were blown away with the sound of them. I’ve used them at the beach and in the backyard. Solid construction, stainless hardware, magnets & IP67 rating make this a solid performer. I’m well pleased with my purchase and I highly recommend the Ranger.

I have purchased a lot of speakers over the years and my favorite has been my JBL, up until recently. I have been wanting this speaker for months and received the Turtlebox Ranger as a birthday present this year and WOW! I have been missing out. This speaker is the perfect size, the battery life is unlike ANY other, it's tough enough to throw in the back of the side-by-side while trail riding, and it's also perfect to sit on my kitchen counter while hosting a party. I customized mine with some pink bumpers to give it a little flair. Another feature I absolutely love is the strong magnets on the back. They really did think of everything when making this! If you're on the fence about purchasing, BUY THE TURTLEBOX! You'll love it.
