Rated 1 out of 5 by from broke after only a few weeks of light use I bought this for my girlfriend to clip to her bag, so she could make sure she had one on her when she took her 1 smoking break during work every day (2 on stressful days). She used it for a few weeks (keep in mind, no more than 2-3 times per day), and the part of the chassis that holds the cover's hinge pin in place broke off. As far as I've heard, the lighter p[art of the lighter worked ok, but a good part of getting a covered lighter was the cover, and if light use causes the cover to fail that fast, then that's a guaranteed low review score...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lighter For Camping I used this lighter for several months in the field and it has never failed to light. I use several different types of Jetboil camping stoves and one will not light with the piezoelectric sparkler and the Sumo's piezoelectric sparked is broken and I used the Klipp lighter to light both of them several times a day. I also have a friend who smokes and I have the only dependable "fire" in the camp. I highly recommend this lighter for camping or any other purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine at 11,000 ft Took this lighter backpacking in the Wind River Range as a backup. The built-in clip was convenient. Works just fine - needed it to seal ends of cut nylon rope when even windproof matches didn't work. Directions say not recommended for use above 10,000 ft elevation, but it worked well at 11,000 ft. Did need to provide some wind protection at that elevation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well I bought this to replace the Trekker which was worthless. It works much better and is passably windproof. Not gale-proof though. I like the ability to clip it on suitable locations on my pack or person. It does take two tries to light most of the time but that is typical of this type of lighter. I find that if I press the button half way down and pause, the continue to the bottom, it lights more consistently. The flame is small but very hot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunately not good It worked fine for about a week then wouldn't spark or light even with full of fuel. Bought the other one and also had to return I dont't recommend either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Klipp Lighter The worst $20 I have ever spent at REI. A horrible lighter - I ended up buing a butane lighter at a gas station for $5 that was better by leaps and bounds on my way for our annual float trip. Purchased the premium butane sold next to it in REI and the thing would barely light. What a lousy product. Should have just bought a Bic and been done with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Lighter We have two and have used them on multiple camping trips. It worked great for us without failure. We recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not consistent Bought this for hiking but would not light effectively at home so I don't trust it to be effective for me in field. I can't return this one fast enough.

When filling this lighter with butane fuel, how do I know when it is full, or how much fluid it holds? When full, how many lights or how long could I expect it to burn?
