Cool! Neat tool and goo prepper item.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very little instructions came with this lighter, but then again, it's very simple to use. It came uncharged, so I plugged it in. Took very little time until it was fully charged. However, I have not used it over 100x yet to see if it really does allow you to light up that many times before you have to re-charge. I like the paracord that comes with it because you can tie the paracord to the lighter and hang it around your neck or onto other gear. The charging cord, however, is cumbersome to drag around with you and there's no way to "attach" it to the item so it's always with the item. That being said, I'm sure if you're in the wild and using this item a lot, then you already have a similar cord with you and a solar charging station, so it's a moot point. Just push the button and it lights up and catches anything on fire that you touch the electric flame to. Light is super, super bright and it's enabled by HOLDING the 'on' button for 3+ seconds. Snap closure, too, so it doesn't open accidentally. Really handy and good-to-have item in your prepper or camping supplies.
Great features!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lighter is pretty cool. It’s nice to have to be able to start a fire in any weather. It has a waterproof case. It comes with a tinder cord lanyard that is three foot long. It also has a light on the other end. Which has three settings. There is low, high and strobe. It’s very light and compact. It fits right in your pocket. It comes with a charging cord. It takes a couple hours to fully charge. Then has many many uses.
Fuel Free Fire Starter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Fuel Free Lighter is such a neat little gadget to have. I'm always that person who has a dead "tossable" fuel lighter. The great thing about this lighter is that even if it's not charged, it's an easy fix. This lighter is simple to use at a push of a button and no fuel is needed. It holds a charge well when not being used. Also doubles as a flashlight and has a rubber grip plus rope lanyard. Have used the lighter to start a few fires in the firepit and to light a few candles. This is a great dependable gadget for our power outage prep kit. It's also great that it charges by USB cable and not some special cable. Everyone has a USB cable at home or in their emergency prep kit.
Great little lighter!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this lighter will be mostly used on camping trips. I love that it can be used in all weather conditions, but want to add a disclaimer that we haven't tried using it in rain or very windy conditions yet. So let's start with the built in flash light- it has 3 modes (high, low, strobe) and it is BRIGHT. I was pleasantly surprised by this. We used the lighter to burn a piece of paper, and the paper lit up immediately. Personally, I'm a fan of this already because I burn myself with normal lighters. The cord that comes with the lighter can be used as tinder, so it serves a dual purpose. One thing we wished was different was that the charger was a "c" type, more universal. You'll notice when you go to charge it, the lighter cap has to be opened. I do not like that, however, there is a safety feature that you cannot turn the lighter on while it's charging. Overall, this product is awesome and would be a great gift for someone who loves to camp or be in the outdoors.
Useful tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great camping or survival lighter. The lighter starts fires easily because of the crossed arcs at the top. There’s a tinder cord lanyard to tie the lighter on and in case of an emergency. On the opposite end of the lighter there’s a flashlight. There’s a 3 hour battery life on the flashlight.
Tried to spark but fizzled out
I have purchased two of these because I liked the concept. The first one sat in my gear drawer for a few years and never got any use. I would charge it occasionally and it seemed to work, until it didn't any more. So I recently got another one and took it out fully charged. It was a cold night but that shouldn't matter for an electronic item. I used the light for less than a minute in the cold morning. When I tried it to light my alcohol stove it would spark for a brief moment and then die. When I got home it was doing the same thing. I plugged it and it came back to life. This is not something I would depend on. I think the brand name SOL is very appropriate.
Super cool!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lighter is amazingly cool! I love the simplicity of the design. The bright orange color gets your attention every time making it hard to lose. This lighter lights up pretty much anything, almost instantly. Which is pretty mind blowing within itself. The only reason I give this lighter 4 stars is because of the high pitch noise my lighter makes when turned on. It's strong enough to make my dog upset. This is no issue for me personally but it could be an issue for others who travel/camp with their pets. Regardless, it's an amazing tool. It's easy to use in any weather inclement without being put out.
Handy little gadget!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a pretty neat and useful gadget that holds its charge well. It is simple to use at the push of a button and I just love that no fuel is needed. Also has a built in flashlight, rubber gripping, and a convenient rope attachment. Me and my husband have been using this for our backyard fires as well as around the house for lighting candles and such. This is great to have!
Charges rapidly, and lasts me days
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great way to get a fire started in the wind. I have used my SOL Fire Lite Fuel Free Lighter in replacement of my regular lighter to test it out, and I found that it lasts me three to four days before I have to charge it again. It shows that if I were in a survival situation where fire would be a life saver, this would be a tool that I would carry at all times.
Nice lighter!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I hike and camp a lot and lighter helps us out tremendously! We charge it before we go and it holds it's charge really well. It is small enough to fit in the backpack without taking up too much space or adding weight. The added flashlight is a great bonus too! It works great for our fire starting needs!
