A little more weight...

...in both your pack and your wallet. I got the Static V for a late season backpacking trip to the Enchantments (September 2013). The pad performed great in the chilly conditions. The generous cut (23" wide) make it very easy to sleep on, and the cells do actually allow you to sleep on your side without digging a hip into the ground! You may 'touch down' slightly when you first roll, but once you settle into position you'll be back up off of the ground. I think the "10-15 breaths" inflation claims may be a little optimistic - I found that it took a little more to get it really firm. But what else do you have to do? It packs down fairly small (think Nalgene Bottle). It wasn't the easiest pad I've ever deflated, but it was durable enough that I didn't worry about it deciding to take that step on its own either. It definitely isn't 'ultralight', weighing in at 25oz... but for comfort it stomps my NeoAir XLite! I find that, for the majority of people that I go out with, the comfort is worth the weight. (NeoAir lightened both my pack and my wallet :P ) If you are looking for a durable, comfortable, warm pad - and you don't want to pay $80 more for the Big Agnus Q-Core then this is the pad for you. Don't expect to blast incredible SUL or UL numbers with this in your pack, but do expect to sleep comfortable. I will use this pad for trips when overall pack weight isn't a huge factor. If the weight vs. distance numbers are right I'll grab for this in a heartbeat. It will probably become my go-to pad for the girlfriend because of the warmth (R 4.4).

Comfy, super packable, decently warm

I used this pad as my only insulation from the ground on an 13 day elk hunt in the Colorado Rockies. The pad is super comfy, packs really well, holds air without a problem, and is pretty light for what it is. The only issue I had is that when temps got to around 23 and below, the pad was cold. It still did a decent job at insulating, obviously much much warmer than bare ground, but it was cold enough that I lost a lot of sleep. This pad would be absolutely perfect when paired with a closed cell foam pad at temps sub 25 degrees. Overall very pleased with it, but know when the temps drop you will need additional insulation.

So comfy

I absolutely love this sleeping pad. I previously purchase the AirRail, which is nice, but I realized I needed something more cloud like and the style of Stativ V is amazing. The ridges give you that could-like cushioning and the R-value keeps the cold off your back. I took this to Iceland a couple of weeks ago (early May 2016) and camped out 5 of the 6 nights. Between this, my Mountain Hardwear Laminina 20 and the sleeping bag liner, I was cozy warm! Here's my lovely view to prove it.

Doesn't slide around

I purchased this for camping purposes about 3 weeks ago. I haven't camped with it yet, but I've used it 12 nights already: on the floor, and on two different cots. Two things have especially impressed me: 1) how well it retains air - I went 9 nights without adding any air and when I went to put in a little; it took just one breath - that was really amazing, compared to past air mattresses. 2) It doesn't slide around on my usual cot, the way my previous Big Agnes mattress did. I liked the other mattress very well, but it was aggravating to always be sliding off it or the cot: that just did not happen with this mattress.

Best pad I've found

I was looking for an insulated, compact, lightweight sleeping pad. This pad has met all my expectations. I got the recon version (gray in color) for military use as well as camping. The valve is easy to use and does not leak. The ground was cold to the touch beside me; however, it was not transferred to my body. Rolls up a little fatter than a 32oz Nalgene bottle. I am 180lbs and could easily sleep on my side using this pad. It will hold air, if you are unsure on how to roll it up properly after deflating it there are instructional videos on youtube. Goes great with the Klymit cush seat/pillow wrapped in a tshirt.

Cool Pad!!!

I got this pad for use of a more comfortable night sleep in the snow. Results were better than expected... First off, It is super light and packs down super small. I also love how it has a 4.0 R value... I tested this pad up at the top of Loveland Pass in Colorado. We made some snow caves and slept in them at night. I was really comfortable all night long. The side rails are handy so you don't fall off the pad at night. All in all, really great pad. Also a little tip... If you want more warmth and comfort, get the Thermarest Solight Rigrest and put it under the Klymit... :) Happy Trails!!!

Threw my mattress away!

This pad is amazing... compact when rolled up. Easy to store had no problems trying to jam it back into sack etc. Great quality, would like to test it in colder weather to see how warm it keeps me from the ground. Took me a second to get the filler nozzle to pop open but once it did only took about 30 seconds or so the first time because the materials had to loosen from each other. Rolled it up and then set it up again and blow up was a breeze about 10-12 good breathes for the nice firm full pad. Closing valve is very simple, doesn't let but a spritz of air out while doing the closing maneuver that we all know and love :) Very happy with product and will be testing it out here on the trail in the next week or two!

Comfy and compact

Pad is fairly small when deflated and rolled up, especially for the amount of comfort it provides. I have very bony hips and am generally a side sleeper, so I was skeptical that this would be comfortable for me, but it definitely is. Neither my hips nor my shoulders touch the ground when laying down on my side. It does take a few more breaths to inflate than advertised, but I must just have a small lung capacity because it doesn't seem like others have this problem. Overall a solid buy.

It's a great pad to sleep on, but...

I bought these two sleeping pads because I was looking for something comfortable and affordable for both me and my girlfriend to use on multi day trips. We used them for the first time last weekend on a 2 day trip, and both like them very much. But, for some reason the one I bought for myself wouldn't hold air. In just 2 nights using it I had to inflate it around 10 times, and my girlfriend only inflated hers once and it lasted the whole weekend. If I could find where the leak was, I could just patch it up, but it's so small there's no way of telling where the air is escaping from. So again, the pads were great, except for the malfunction in mine that left me sleeping with my shoulders and hips on the ground.

Amazing Value, Better Pad.

Unfortunately I have only had the opportunity to use this in the wilderness once but due to its pack-ability it has provided resourceful in a number of instances. The only time this pad was used outside was during a camping stay at Copper Falls State Park in Northern WI. To get a great view of the stars we did not have our fly on the tent. At night the temperature dropped to the low 20's with a strong 10/mph wind. My girlfriend and I ended up sharing this pad and a down bag together as hers was not keeping heat at all. The insulation on this is amazing. Size, this thing is so tiny and weighs practically nothings for the insulation value it provides. The included sack also includes a little pocket with a repair kit. It seems very sturdy, it was blown up for 4 days in a hospital waiting room where a number of us took shifts sleeping on it. For the money you cannot go wrong having 1 or 2 of these in your gear closet.
