  • CamJam threads narrower cord (from 1.8 - 3mm in diameter) for, you guessed it, smaller jobs
  • With a stainless-steel gated carabiner on 1 end, and a rotating, ridged cam mechanism on the other, the CamJam can be anchored to any hook, D-ring or loop
  • Feed the cord through the hole and pull it downward through the cam to adjust to the desired tension
  • Let go, and it locks into place and stays that way until you release it by pulling the cord upward out of the cam, or by rotating the cam open
  • Easy to adjust, the Nite Ize CamJam Cord Tightener offers 2 versatile systems of use, and can be used and reused hundreds of times
  • Clipped to rings and hooks, it's excellent for hanging and securing banners, lanterns, tarps and tent guyline
  • Or, create a loop by clipping it to 1 end of the cord and pulling the other end through; perfect for bundling light gear, extension cords, cut brush, or groceries to a bike
  • Small size 2-pack includes one 12 ft. section of highly reflective cord
  • Regular size 2-pack includes two 8 ft. sections of 5/32 in. rope

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a quick fix I actually bought this to repair/reinforce the handle of a suitcase, and it's worked amazingly well, easily making it through my recent vacation, complete with two condo changes and a few flights. I clipped the cord tightening clips into the existing D rings of the broken handle and cobra knotted around the torn, busted leather handle. I then make simple, quick knots for the ends and melted them together a bit with a lighter, as I was skeptical of the pinch/adjusting wheel - but the pinch lock wound up holding just fine. All in all, highly recommend - super versatile even for more outside-the-box projects - and definitely extended the life of my luggage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clever Design as Usual, but Why Use Any Plastic? Well, I'm a proponent of using knots instead of such things, but Nite Ize makes such clever devices, I just wind up buying them. I bought the small size. While my use would only be for ridge lines, I just decided I couldn't trust the plastic lock wheel. I also am disappointed in their newer plastic small Figure 9's - I prefer the metal ones. Plastic for weight, Ok, sure, but for parts under stress or that have to hold by friction? I just can't see plastic as durable enough here. If the device was entirely metal I'd have kept it long enough to give it a good test, but I returned it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I purchased several of these to use with lengths of Paracord I purchased several of these to use with lengths of Paracord to secure items in the rear of my SUV. Rather than using bungee cords which always seemed too long or too short I hook these into the tie-down loops in the back of my vehicle and just pull the end of the Paracord to tighten. They work well. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a protrusion to the movable portion to make release easier.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs more development These are a good idea but they don't quite deliver. I think they could be improved with one easy tweak: make the teeth on the cam a bit deeper. If you use these be aware that they work better with the supplied cord, which is softer than standard para cord. I couldn't get them to grip on para cord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No knots to tie with your 550 cord. Great product and it comes in plastic or aluminum. I bought the plastic because for heavier loads, I have other devices for tying down. These you simply thread through, take out the slack, tighten down on your load and you're done. Loosening them is simple too. I like them!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic = No Durability I was excited to utilized these as tie downs for my canopy, but the quality wasn't there. The cam stuck in the open position multiple times, and I had to manually close it. Even so, the supplied rope would not stay secure and tight. I took these back for a refund

Good to see that people are importing technology ideas from sailing hardware. Now we need to see how durable they are so I can upgrade to a 5

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great idea, great execution Yes, purists tie knots. And yes, I know how to tie the knots. BUT for quick setup and ease of use you can't beat these for guy lines, tarp ridge lines, etc. Fantastic!
