awsome !! size up

I have owned this jacket for two seasons now and it is awesome. Go up a size unless you like it very snug. I wear a small in every other jacket but ordered a medium after I found the small to be too tight to put any type of sweater underneath. This jacket has kept me warm in minus 20 degree conditions! We have a lot of crazy icy winds and this jacket has been amazing. The good is nicely padded and offers enough room. The pockets are nicely lined and keep my hands warm. This is the one winter coat I can't do without. I never had any issues with zippers or lack of warmth - I have several jackets from Columbia, North Face and jack wolfskin - none of which are as well made or as warm as this one.

Bleeds down/feathers

This coat would be amazing if it didn't leak down and feathers. It's the perfect fit (I'm petite and the XS is the best fitting coat I have ever owned), it's amazingly warm, and has a simple stylish cut. I've already returned it once due to the down leakage and was told it was just a defective coat, but even the second coat started doing the same. VERY disappointed to have spent this much $$ on a coat that covers my upper body in white down. I wouldn't recommend it unless this fix this problem.

Warm and cute, 'nuff said

This jacket is awesome. I tried on every down jacket I could find at REI and other outdoors stores and this was by far the best balance of warmth, comfort and style. I got it in the cream color, which I think is much cuter than black/steel blue (although who knows if I can actually manage to keep it clean...) I am 5'2" 118 lbs size B cup and size small is a perfect fit. A huge plus for me is that this jacket doesn't produce a lot of static electricity, unlike many others I tried on (North Face is the worst for this). Only complaint is that the hood covers up a lot of my face, which is good for warmth but bad for seeing where you're going.

Very soft and warm but weird fit

Im 5'9 150 lbs and 32D/34C. Bought this in both M and L. Very very warm and soft but not right for me. Medium fit pretty well but was tight in the chest and narrow in the shoulders and the arms were super big and puffy around the bicep and made me (and my boyfriend) look like the michelin man. large was too large and the arms were even bigger. Really wanted this to work because it was soooooooo comfortable, but for the high price, I need it to be flattering too. Will be returning both.

SO WARM

I've read a few reviews about this coat leaking down inside the torso, but I've worn it three times now without a single feather coming out. Maybe Marmot has fixed the problem since last year's model? Anyway: This coat is really well-designed. It fits well (I'm 5'4", 130 lbs, and I got a medium), is water resistant (which also means wind resistant), crazy-warm, and way better looking than most puffer coats. I don't like the fake fur much, but it'll help keep my face warm when the wind chill hits, and it zips off easily. I tried a bunch of other coats first, and this is the one.

Warm, cozy and not ugly.

I purchased this coat a year ago and it still looks and works almost perfectly. My zipper has been acting funny, like it's stuck on the inside fabric(which it's not) so it is tough to zip up and occasionally there are little feathers that leak out. It washes very well, I just remove the fur and pop it in the washer and dryer. I live in temps that can be -30 and I stay warm! I am 5'7", 140 lbs and a medium fits good even with a bulky sweatshirt or layers underneath. The small was a little snug on my chest. And, I still really like how it looks after a year:)

Extremely warm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not look forward to spending the winter in Michigan after 16 years of being in FL. My boyfriend was determined to make sure that I stay warm and after weeks of research, he purchased this coat for me. I’m very thankful because it is definitely my go to coat. It is light and has kept me extremely warm the last 2 winters in Michigan. I’m 5’4, 104 lbs and wearing a size small coat in this picture...as you can see, there’s some room for layering. Love the length and the warmth!

Down spills out!

I've owned this jacket for a couple seasons. It is very well insulated and beautifully fitted (unlike many over-stuffed puffers). However, the torso is lined with fleece with lets the down through very easily. if you wear anything nice/staticky underneath, you're sure to look like a plucked chicken. Major oversight on Marmot's part to not ensure that the fleece lining is double-lined to prevent down leakage.

Beautiful Coat

Beautiful coat, and warm too. I took it to Sweden in the Autumn and it was perfect, stylish and very comfortable. I love the inside pockets and the outside zipped pockets. Love the color! Good purchase! It does run a bit small but that’s okay, good motivation for me to loose some pounds.

Weird fit

It’s a really nice jacket. I spent a few weeks researching between Patagonia, North Face, and Marmot. I finally decided on the Montreal, and was super excited to give it to my wife for Christmas. Unfortunately, it was too long in the arms, and she said she felt like she looked fat in it. So, I was pretty bummed, because now I have to return it and just give her the money so she can find what she wants. It really is a beautiful jacket though. One thing I noticed when I took it out of the box, was that it smelled musty, which could have been from shopping, but either way, that was a turn off when you spend the money, it should smell brand new.
