[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Marmot coat. My first one was a ski jacket I bought in 1990 and I still wear it. I needed a warmer, windproof, waterproof coat for Antarctica so I chose the Chelsea. It couldn't be more perfect. I wanted to wear it with thick sweaters and sweatshirts. I bought it a size larger because of other reviewers' suggestions. Mission accomplished. I only wish it was more of a blue red and less of an orange-red. Otherwise, it's perfect!
I love the Chelsea Coat with a few caveats, the most detracting of which is how the collar is designed. I am petite (5'2"/120#) and find that the collar is suffocatingly tight and also too tall -- so tall that when fully zipped, it covers my mouth and nose. Perhaps this is why the coat is almost always shown not fully zipped in photos? It is too tight on me to both wear a scarf and zip the coat fully; it's one or the other (plus having 1/2 my face covered by the collar). As other reviewers have noted, it could also use more interior pockets. If these two issues -- namely the collar -- were corrected, this would be a 5-star must-have winter coat.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this jacket for the super cold weather in Chicago, and I think it's much warmer than my other jackets. It's also suitable for snowy weather. I bought the gray color, and I'm very satisfied with my choice. Before purchasing it, I checked the reviews on the site and read a comment that said a stain on the dress couldn't be removed. Despite that, I still chose the same color, and it's easy to wash. I must add that the jacket has a loose cut. I normally wear size M, but in this model size S fits me perfectly. It would have been wonderful if they had designed a pocket inside the jacket.Thank you for the discount you gave, it made me able to buy this jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this coat for several years and it’s still holding up well! It’s nice and warm and stylish, not super bulky, nicely fitted in the torso but larger in the arms. Not sure if the fit has been updated or not since then. That would be my only complaint - I got a Medium and I wouldn’t fit comfortably in a Small with extra layers in the winter, but the top half of the arms are a littler larger than what I would normally wear. Mine has hidden snaps which I think are more fashionable than the snaps they have now, in my opinion. I would recommend this coat to anyone and will probably get another one if mine ever wears out.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got the Nori in my usual size. Fits great. The material looks sturdy enough to withstand the elements, the fleece lined pockets are great for the cold. But it could do with at least an internal pocket. Sometimes I carry a credit card and/or my ID on my walk, just in case I need it. With no internal pockets I feel I'll lose them if I carry them in my outer pockets. Overall, a great jacket for very cold days. Though I haven't had to try it out since winter has been warm, I love the waterproof feature. Also I saw what one reviewer said about the Nori color, stains can show easily. I returned it to get the black color.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did a lot of searching for the perfect warm, waterproof, yet stylish coat for a winter trip and landed on this as the best overall. However, I am SO annoyed that there is not a single inner pocket! I just assumed there would be one because why wouldn't there be? It's such a basic and expected feature in any coat, even the cheapest ones. I am going to take it to a tailor to see if I can get one sewn in - not thrilled about spending extra money on an already expensive coat but I did get it on sale so I'm justifying it that way. Please do not put out such high quality items that lack these basic essential features!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is going to be a very warm and nice walking coat for winter mornings . True to fit. I usually get a large in coats to layer and this one fit just as well as my NF large long coat style For reference I am 5’4 and 145-150 and not flat chested as I saw some complaints was fit snug on top I did not find that to bean issue. I have no problem with the hood I always wear a winter hat anyway but even when I pulled it up with no hat underneath I did not find the hood to be to be .. over all great purchase and price on sale. I would not pay full price for this coat but sale price and value could not pass up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sleeves are still a bit long for petite ( 157cm, 52kg ), although it is not too obviously weird on me I would still prefer to get one that is tailored for petite body frame and unfortunately it is quite hard to find one on the market. I got size XS and if I lose more weight, this jacket would be too big, and they don't have smaller size available. agreed with other reviewers that it lacks an inner pocket to be perfect, but for the price I paid I am fine with it. the button around the neck is a bit hard to close when I want to. I love that the hood is removable and doesn't have fur. I wonder if they have a male version short coat? I would love to get one for my brother. overall, I don't regret my unreturnable final sale purchase of this coat
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this coat but the hood is useless! I had the Chelsea coat from 2016 with the fur hood and loved it. Just decided it was time to upgrade to the new version. It’s warm and fits well like the old version but the hood is awful. It doesn’t stay in place and blows off in the cold wind, which is very annoying. As much as I love the coat otherwise, I may have to return it now because the hood is a deal breaker. If there was an option to buy the old hood style and swap it out I would!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried the old Chelsea coat and this new one. The fabric in this one is stiffer. I like the hood- still not too big and doesn’t fall into your eyes. This newer model is also more roomy and more comfortable. It seems warm. I decided to return it as I found a different coat from a different brand that had more down and is more comfortable. This one the neck is so stiff when it’s zipped up all the way th at it starts to make you feel a little uncomfortable.
