Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, super useful, super light Too happily married for a thru hike, I'm doing the AT one section at a time. This bucket has been on every trip since I bought it. It makes getting water easy. I dip or scoop water to grab a bucketful from the stream and bring it back to camp--especially useful when water sources are far from the shelter or campsite. I use a three foot section of paracord to tie the handle up to a limb or tree trunk (since it is not able to stand on its own). The particulates settle to the bottom, and I pour the water into bottles for purification. I've made many friends at shelters by offering additional water to them. When I'm done, I fold and roll the bucket up with my Aquamira bottles wrapped inside. At only 1 oz., it's easy to carry, and works well. NOTE: my son is thru hiking the AT right now and took my old S2S sil nylon bucket, so I had to buy another!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very small and light! This thing is super small and super light. Amazing that it can hold the weight of 10L of water, but it does! Crams down in the included sack to the size of a 1/2" thick credit card. The only downside is unlike the standard model, this will not stand up on its own when filled with water (since the material is so thin). So think of it as a bucket that you have to constantly be holding (or hanging from something).

The standard Sea-To-Summit has a small handle near the base to assist with pouring.  Does this bucket have the same handle?  How easy is it to pour from this bucket when full?

Asked by: car camping dad
This bucket is designed to be ultra-lightweight. It is not free standing and lacks the small handle near the base to assist with pouring.
