Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh I used this device about 6 times before it failed. The pulley system worked really well until my last use. The most resent time i used it the sheeve must not have spun while my rope was traveling over it. Due to this the sheeve melted causing the system to no longer work. On top of this the melted plastic transfered to my rope. Now 6 feet of my rope is coated in melted plastic. I would spend the extra dollars and get something with metal sheeves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little pulley This is a very good pulley for the money, somewhat under rated I think. Doesn't have the same strength as the Petzl Mini Prussik Pulley but for half the weight if you don't need that extra strength you will be fine.

Would the plastic on this pulley be able to withstand the pressure put on it through intense rigging?

The Oscillante is rated to withstand forces up to 4 kN (about 900 lbs of force) when in use, and has a breaking strength of 15 kN (roughly 3375 lbs of force). As long as the pressure that you are putting on the pulley during your rigging falls within these parameters, the plastic should not have any problems.
