Quality pulley
---I saw that this pulley didn't have any reviews and I like it so much I felt I should speak up--- If you're building a mechanical advantage (pulley) system there's no reason not to get quality (high efficiency) pulleys. If you build a 3:1 MA with cheap, nylon sheave pulleys you'll be luckily to get an actual MA of ~1.75:1. Use decent bushing pulleys and you might get ~2.25:1. Quality, sealed ball bearing pulleys like these come in upwards of ~2.5:1, which is pretty much the best you can expect without going to larger diameter sheaves. If you're looking for a light weight pulley you really can't beat these. They're a good compromise of sheave diameter/weight/efficiency. Spring for the extra cash on ball bearings and you won't be disappointed. The effort and frustration you'll save compared to cheaper alternatives is well worth the difference in initial cost. I keep two of these in my pack pretty much all the time (rescue work or recreational climbing). Particularly if you find yourself in a self rescue situation having to haul your partner alone, a good pulley is worth its weight in gold. Don't cheap out.
Good quality. Not fall rated so don’t top rope
Great little device, but not fall rated so don’t use them on a top rope system. Stick to a $3 ring instead. Great quality as all Pretzl products, gold hasn’t faided or worn
