Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

I got this to layer under a Patagonia R2 (very slim) fleece. I'm 5'1" and got the XS, which was a perfect fit. It did the job (kept me warm and dry with the R2 in 40 degree weather), but for an ultralight shell, it's pretty heavy! In a torrential downpour at 80 degrees, it was just too warm even with the pit zips fully open and just a cami underneath. I couldn't wear it without a layering piece or I would just get extra sweaty (even with the pit zips fully open) because the fabric (while waterproof and windproof) was not breathable at all. I can't really complain because I got the jacket on super sale, so I guess I got what I paid for.
I had to pick a lightweight, all purpose, all weather jacket and this jacket fit the bill! I found this jacket after looking online and in stores for a few days a week before my cruise to Alaska. I needed something that would be easy to carry, could handle mild weather and wind. Summertime in Alaska has nice weather but it can get cold and there's chances of rain so I needed something windproof and waterproof. This jacket was perfect! I got compliments from my family on it (bought the Berry color). The hood was a perfect fit for my head and had a nice bill on it. I was able to stuff it next to my camera in my camera bag when I wasn't using it. I wore it with a light sweatshirt and it worked out great for our excursions. I love the media pocket too! I'm a big girl (up top) and it didn't make me look too poofy or unshapely. LOVE LOVE LOVE this jcaket. Thanks REI!
Awful craftsmanship. Flakes off and makes it look like I have dandruff. Didn’t last 10 years, whereas my family’s 25 year old Northface jacket is in perfect condition.
I needed a new lightweight rain jacket and decided to go with this one. I bought it for my vacation to South Africa and Lesotho in December and it came in handy for the rains down there! It kept me dry while my other family members got soaked. I also liked that I could wad it up and cram it in my day pack when I wasn't wearing it. A good jacket that will come in handy for future camping and backpacking trips this summer. Handy for everyday use as well.
I purchased this jacket for a trip to Italy - I was packing light and wanted a lightweight rain jacket "just in case", but didn't want to sacrifice much space in my carry-on. I tried on a LOT of jackets, and this was the most comfortable, the most stylish, and the best fit - and the only one I looked at that had a removable hood. It packs down very small, and took on an all day downpour in Venice in style! Kept me dry, and looked great. It was a little more than I had expected to spend, but well worth it - no regrets, and I will get lots of use out of it.
Works well in wet windy weather or for layering in colder weather. I've used this all over the world. It packs down small for travel. Kept me warm in 30 degree weather with light snow with a 100gm quarter zip fleece underneath. The hood is big enough to get a warm woolen cap underneath for additional warmth. Kept me warm and dry in windy foggy weather. Draw cords cinch up tight to keep out wind and rain. The chest pocket is handy for keeping subway ticket handy. I also take it with me on day hikes for an additional layer in case the weather changes.
This is my 'Go To' jacket/coat. I've had mine for several years in a champaign color and it is now falling apart ~ but not from lack of quality ~ it's just finally worn out on me. I started looking for a new one last year and was sorely disappointed with the color selection. I want something neutral but not dark, more of an earth color. The champaign color of mine was perfect with everything I wear but it's not offered now. Was told in my local store that they are discontinuing the coat/jacket but I don't see anything indicating that on the website. This coat/jacket is great for wind and rain which is what our winters are made of around here. It's easy to layer underneath and has great ventilation if I get too warm. The only thing that make this an absolutely perfect jacket is if it had a THIN removable liner... but that might take away from the greatness of it. PLEASE if any REI folks read this bring back some toned down colors! This is too great a coat to not offer it in more less bold colors without having to go black. 4 stars is because of color selection. I'd actually give it three because of color but it's just too good of a coat.
I was looking for a windproof shell for my winter in Yellowstone trip & also to use while riding my motorcycle year round. This jacket fit the bill & more. It fits perfectly & I am short & overweight (5ft, 170 lbs - yeah I know, I'm a big gal) & usually can't find a jacket that fits really well, but the XL womens fits wonderfully. It has kept me dry in a rainstorm & really cuts down the bite of the wind riding around at 60 mph. When it's really cold I throw a fleece underneath & I'm out the door. It beat out my North Face shell hands down.
I bought this jacket to wear on a 4 mile bike commute in Seattle. It is comfortable, stylish, has lots of great waterproof pockets and a nice pocket/interior slit for your headphones to come out of. However, it was not breathable - I don't ride that fast or hard but the inside of the jacket would be wet from perspiration when I got to work, even on colder days. It was fine when I was just walking around in it, but not for moderate exercise. I have returned it and am going to try out the Kimtah Event jacket.
I recently used this jacket on a geological field outing where it rained all day. I needed a jacket that was light enough to pack, but kept me dry. Well after about an hour of steady light rain the jacket reached saturation and was completely soaked through. I retreated to my truck for a hour and it somewhat dried out. I went out again and it dried nicely in the wind till it started to rain once again and the same resutls, no water proofing! Will be returning for a better rainjacket.
