Well...a nice outer jacket for rougher weather (rain, snow)...but even at 50% off not a great value. I love Patagonia products generally, but all manufacturers have cut back on key items that most good jackets had just ten years ago. For example, this Storm Shift does not have one of those nice YKK zippers that are easy to zip up/down in winter (with gloves or mitts on). Instead a small zip...why put a nickle item on one of your signature jackets? (2) the hood is monstrous - needs some way to cinch it so that is approximates the shape of one's head...as is one needs to wear a baseball cap or )better) a helmet. So the jacket is good not great...we received it in early May so can't speak to its warmth or waterproofness just yet...
