Defect or poor built
I purchased this item from REI, and while refilling it at U-Haul, I discovered that one of the cylinders was leaking. I found that the cylinder gasket had come off. I attempted to reattach the gasket and reconnect it to the Tap Rack, but I was unable to secure it, and the gasket detached again. I contacted REI, and they agreed to exchange the item. I bought it at a discounted price during the Labor Day sale. But, since it's already filled with propane, I cannot ship it back for an exchange and have to drive 25 miles to return it in-store. This situation has become quite inconvenient, negating the savings I initially enjoyed with my purchase. It's a good setup, and I hope Ignik will improve its quality control. Let's see how it goes in the next few years.
A beginning to an end of the green bottle waste.
This product is awesome! It pays for itself in short time and is safe and ready to go. I know there's a few hacks out there to DIY refills that are potentially unsafe and unpredictable. This system, and all 4 bottles are DOT certified for 10 to 12 years of use and so easy to refill. Be warned though, you cannot refill the standard green bottles with this system, but you will not need to replace the Ignik bottles for at least a decade. I for one feel so much better knowing I'm not contributing to the tens of thousands of bottles ending up in landfills every summer. :)
Refilling is the way to go
Finally! Why hasn't anyone done this before!? I get sick every time I throw a green tank away. This is such a cool solution, because let's face it, there is no way I'm going to try and fill these up at home. So excited about this
Cool to see someting new!
Really cool idea. The little 1-lb options nowadays are crazy expensive. I thought I might have trouble filling this up, but so far so good. I does take a little bit of elbow grease to get on and off, but I think thats good. better than loose. I look forward to filling it up again.
great product and game changer
Arrived yesterday and filled today. Zero issues. All the filler has to do is open one of the bleed valves and shouldn’t take too long. 1 gallon gets all (4) cans filled at a fraction of the cost.
Super cool and useful
I've used a lot of different propane vessels, but this one is the only one I'll ever need from here on out. It offers all the versatility of 1lb bottles and an easily refillable larger tank in one. Meaning I can remove one bottle for a short weekend trip, take the whole rack for longer adventures or to use in the backyard or with my Skullet on road trips, and I can run to a propane refill station and get all four bottles refilled quickly and easily! It's an investment for sure, but one that will be worth it for folks who use propane like it's going out of style for a number of applications. All without needing a whole shelf in the garage to store a bunch of different size tanks and bottles. Huzzah!
Great concept, just cant find anyone to fill it
Loved the idea of this, I bought 2 sets. Took it to 2 of my local fillers only to be turned away due to each individual tank having to be weighed once filled and being that most fillers deal in bottle starting at 20lbs they dont have scales that weigh less then 10lbs. Making it difficult to have them filled. Unfortunately these wont work in my neck of the woods. Contact your local fillers before buying these. Ultimately, I had to return my 2 sets of Tap Rack since they would never be filled.
WHY HAS IT TAKEN SO LONG?
It's funny how we fall into bad habits. I've been using those Coleman bottles my whole life and never really thought about the fact that they were just a little bit of gas in an expensive bottle. This product works great, what a cool innovation! People need to think about more solutions like this and get rid of the bad habits.
Should get a lot of use out of this
So far so good. The quality seems top notch and I like the design of this. Definitely not as bulky as I was expecting. With a couple of the propane carry cases I can haul everything safely and set up and use when needed. I’m happy to finally have an easy and safe way to refill pounders, and some flexibility in how I use them.

Bought this after sitting on 8 of the green cans and not knowing where the heck to recycle these things. Feels terrible only using them once. Such a waste. With these, I’ve already refilled them twice and even used the entire thing as a growler. Awesome concept and even better execution. Great job Ignik Team!
