Perfect size for camping
I had my eye on these 5lb tanks for a bit and got lucky enough to find two of them at a local store for half price so I grabbed them both. I am so happy I did because they are very handy and so much better than buying 1lbs tanks or hauling a 20lb tank anywhere. One of these is plenty for a weekend camping trip with our family but it is great having a spare and no need to worry if one is starting to run low. Also works great for the propane heater we use in our off grid tiny house when it's cold. We have had no issues getting them filled at our local hardware store multiple times now. Love that the bag makes for easy transport, keeps the tank safer and keeps the adaptor hose stored with it. With the price of 1lb tanks these days this will pay for itself eventually if you camp a lot, be more environmentally friendly and save you the trouble of changing out those tiny tanks all the time.
Way better than single use cans!
I’ve used this growler from ignik since it was released - white color but it’s the same deal. I love that I don’t have to carry a bunch of little green single use propane tanks and can bring this instead. It’s also smaller and lighter than the standard big propane tanks. I use it for my stove while camping and at night switch it to power my ignik fire can Refilling these saves money and saves the planet - win win for all.
Ignik Gas Growler
Too many are the times when I needed a little disposable fuel can and couldn't find one, Covid 99 was the last straw, I bought an Ignik Gas Growler and have loved every bit of it, I recently went to a 3 day trip with my granddaughter who roasted marshmallows for the first time.. we had them every night, breakfast and lunch all 3 days, she couldn't get enough, we also used my Fire Can as a campfire as well as cooked all meals for 4 people, it still has plenty in it, where the disposables... would not, this thing is excellent
Perfect size for camper vans
I have this growler and an Ignik fire can that I use in the winter months with my camper van. I store them in a box that I added to one of the back doors of the van. The compact size is perfect for camper van or smaller RVs. And despite the size, the fire can produces enough heat to keep you warm. My tank is white but the new blue color looks pretty cool.
Easy for a senior citizen camper.
I have purchased both the Growler 5.0 and the 3.8 The 5.0 I gifted to my nephew who uses it camping in Alberta Canada. He loves it and appreciates how efficient and easy it is in his large camp setting and of course saving the use of green bottles. I’m old and small so I really appreciate the ease of use in handling the 3.8 Growler. It is so easy to hook up to my camp stove. There is never ANY problem. It’s light weight easy and cheap to have filled and I never plan to be without it ! It’s a very friendly alternative to the green bottles. A must for grilling outside year round.
Great Replacement for the 1 lb Bottles
It's not cheap, but if you go through a lot of green canisters, this will pay for itself, and help the environment. The cylinder holds a couple of pounds of propane, which I have been able to get for $1 a pound. Compare this to $4-10 for a disposable canister. The provided hose connects to any unit that usually takes a 1 lb can, and the cylinder can also be used with full sized propane grills and things, perhaps as a backup if your 20 lb cylinder runs out. The case holds the cylinder and hose securely, and the outer cover is padded and wipes clean if necessary.
Gas growler
I use the growler for my portable stove with an adapter and also for my Ignik fire pit Comes with a portable bag Excellent product
Warmth without the weight
Purchased 2 of these Gas Growler Deluxe 5.0"s to fuel a Mr. Heater Big Buddy portable heater. 1 to use and to swap out when refilling. Tanks are lightweight and easy to move around and small enough to store easily. We use these when camping in fall and also through the winter on an open porch, allowing us to sit out in comfort. Really like the tank covers which are premium quality. Hard protective material on top and bottom, with the top having a Rugged zippered opening, and padded fabric around the middle. Adapter hose stores nicely inside the case so I don't have to worry about leaving it behind.⁷
IGNIK Defective Gas Growler
I took the tank to my local LP refilling station for filling and the station owner could not get the tank to take gas. He tried every trick he knows several times to no avail (this is a guy with several decades of LP tank experience, not some amateur). He then told me he has seen “a few” of these tanks before that had the same fault. The valve is DEFECTIVE and other website reviews mention the very same issue. Don't waste your money.
Peace out mini green propane cans!
This is a real lifesaver at the campsite and outdoor park dinners! I used to pack a few of those green propane cans for the stove only to miscalculate my "shake and see how much gas is left" and they run out. Plus they're a waste and you never seem to squeeze all that propane out of them. Plus they're expensive. This gas growler has changed the game. Easy to fill up at the local hardware store, inexpensive. It's like going to the coffee shop with your own mug and you get a discount. There's no scare of running out and it's easy to pop in the truck and keep organized. Love this, thank you!
