Lovely colour, thinner than expected

A good in “between jacket” I bought this jacket thinking it would preform differently than it has but I am still a fan. Wore it on a couple hikes this spring, it’s very light weight and packable but I’m unsure how it would hold up in really heavy rain and snow. I am happy with my purchase but would definitely need something if the weather was anymore intense than Spring showers

Great rain shell!!!

I've had so many different rain shells from so many different companies that are all great and then they end up not being waterproof enough which leaves you neither high nor dry. I got this jacket in the Twilight Trail color way which was periwinkle with bright orange hits. The color was sick, the cut of the jacket was perfect for me since I have a shorter torso and bike commute in Seattle. The jacket itself isn't super long so it feels like the right length to cover my clothes, but not sit uncomfortable on my hips/butt. Really solid jacket, really stoked to have it! Super packable too.

Rain jacket

Oh, ARC’TERYX, you had me dreaming of frolicking through Alaska’s wilderness, bone-dry under your sleek, overpriced embrace. Instead, your “waterproof” light jacket turned my 3-day backpacking trip in Denali into a soggy nightmare worthy of a one-star rant. Sorry, this jacket is not waterproof!

Hello Adele, thank you for your honest feedback, we’re genuinely sorry to hear that the Coelle Jacket didn’t perform as expected during your trip. That kind of experience, especially in a place as demanding as Denali, is deeply disappointing. We understand how critical reliable gear is in the backcountry, and your experience highlights the importance of matching product capabilities to conditions. We appreciate you sharing this, and we’ll make sure it informs how we communicate product performance going forward.

Lightweight

I initially was very excited about this Coelle jacket. I absolutely love the colour combo of purple and grey. I didn't realize though how lightweight the jacket actually is. Upon feeling the jacket, though advertised as waterproof, its just a bit too lightweight for me. Maybe I should have a little bit of faith, but the lightweight nature doesn't leave me feeling confident in waterproofing against the rains of the Northwest. I bought as an online purchase. I wish the jacket was a bit sturdier. The design is a bit boxy, which is great for layering or someone even with a bit of a tummy, the proportions on the bottom are generous. I think overall this jacket is better suited to a weekend warrior than someone who needs a daily rain jacket. If I had wanted a light weight jacket, this would have been ideal.

Hi Char. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Coelle Jacket! We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the lightness of it and that it did not suit your needs. Rest assured, however, that the GORE-TEX fabric makes it fully waterproof. That being said, for heavier and sturdier options, we recommend looking at our Beta line of jackets.

Hmm...not for serious weather but cool looking:)

I love the look, the feel, the lightness. It's windproof for sure. It's not very waterproof - I used it during a trail run in Ireland. It rained for 5h - and it didn't protect me as well as Beta does. Not as warm either. But, I do use it like a lightweight running/cycling jacket or urban cool-looking jacket:) But for more serious weather - I'll stick to my old Beta. I might try waterproofing Coelle with Nikwax or sth.

Hello Maja, thank you for sharing your experience with the Coelle Jacket. We're thrilled to hear you love the look, feel, and lightness, and that it’s been a versatile piece for a range of activities. The Coelle is designed to be lightweight (210g) and breathable, making it ideal for various pursuits and everyday wear. In contrast, the Beta Jacket features a more rugged construction (300g) with a significantly higher denier fabric (80d vs. 15d in the Coelle), making it better suited for more demanding conditions. Each jacket is purpose-built, with different strengths depending on the environment and activity. As for waterproofing, even Gore-Tex has its limits, especially during extended exposure to rain. If your Coelle is no longer beading water, it may be time to reapply a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment to help restore its performance. Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback. It’s always valuable to hear how our gear performs out in the real world.

The take everywhere jacket

Use this jacket for running and for cycling. It's perfect fit for wider hips than the Norvan. Light enough to pack in my cycling jersey or seat bag for long rides. Breathability for running is top notch, don't feel my sweat or humidity while wearing it. Truly a great piece.

Compact, stylish everyday piece

Such a cool peice to have for day to day use. I have it in my car all the time, its compact and goes with all my outfits. keeps me warm and dry in all activites - hike, walking around the city, errands, etc. Honestly crazy how thin it is and is waterproof.

Most versatile piece for late Spring/Summer

I love how light this product is. It's perfect for late Spring/Summer. I have the Beta AR which is heavier for cooler weather. Both have a slightly roomier cut to allow easy layering. As a person who is 5'4", the shorter length is a plus as well.

Great for travel!

This is a great rain shell for travelling! I took it on a trip to Ireland, it was super light and packed small for my suitcase, and fully stood up to the rainy weather there. the fit of the jacket is also sleek and flattering.

Stay dry with room to move.

The Coelle is what I was looking for in a sporty fit, super lightweight shell that will keep me dry in warm rainy days. It feels beautiful against my skin and I have room to move. Love It!!
