Arc'teryx  Alpha SV Jacket - Women's

Great jacket, have it second season, normally wear XS in Arc jacket but bought this in medium as I wanted to fit Thorium jacket underneath. So far I am happy with it, kept me dry in Scotland during the winter trip last year where we got everything ... rain, wind, snow. Loved it for winter climbing this February in Slovakia too, it doesn't restrict any movement and pit zip are great for regulating the temperature. I use it mostly in winter, or when heavy rain is forecasted. For the rest of the year I had Zeta SL and Rab jacket. And recently got Beta SL to replace Zeta as it doesn't have pit zips, so ended up using it only for non intense activities.

I bought this jacket as I was tired of owning a rain jacket that did not work and this was recommended by a friend. I wore it for 28 days straight! in Portugal when it rained every day on the Camino in February. This jacket and the endless pastries are the only reason I finished the hike. It looks new today after a rugged journey!! Causal fit, not too snug or loose. I wear a solid large and that is what I ordered.

I wanted a very durable, weatherproof, all mountain jacket and that is what I found in this one. The streamline simple design is highly functional. I mostly use it to ski and backcountry tour. It’s lighter than previous vortex and makes less noise. The fit is a little on the larger side but makes it great for layering with insulation. I love the new colour, can’t remember name but looks deep purple. I’m very satisfied so far with the overall quality. It does have a heavy price tag so I suppose the expectation is that it should perform and last.

I purchased this jacket to get me through a hybrid of activities - I wanted a heavier duty, technical shell for ski touring, but still be useful in the summer for hiking and still look good for wearing around town in between. I typically wear a small in most things (4-6 in lulu tops), and while the small in store felt and looked great even over my Atom jacket, I sized up to a medium just for the extra mobility and layering options. We'll see how it holds up to the test of time as I'm quite hard on my things, but so far I'm happy with it as a replacement for my 12 year old Beta.

The sturdiest jacket I have ever had yet supple enough not to constrain movement. I used it so far for ice climbing and mixed climbing. Goretex shell has held up against literally a shower of climbing ice in warmer temps. I love the cut that is fitted yet provides enough room for wearing a couple of layers including a Nuclei jacket under. It cuts wind effectively. Storm hood is fantastic at fitting well over the helmet. One of favourite Arcteryx piece.

Love this jacket so far. the length is perfect for ski touring and snowshoeing. My hands get really cold and I like that the zippers do not stick at and easy to use. I’m 5’6, bought a size small. A little roomy, but perfect for layering. I’m really happy with my purchase.

First day of sunny spring skiing in Dover, VT. It fit perfectly. I usually wear a medium but like to have room for layers. It was waterproof for wet snow, warm yet lightweight and breathable, and not too stiff right out of the box. Love love the color!

Well made, but noisy. I never used it and returned it .
