I am surprised of the multiple one-star reviews complaining about the lack of down in certain areas of the bag. This is actually the strength of this bag, as in have more insulation in the top where it is needed and less in the bottom where it is not (but it's not empty in the bottom neither), similar to quilts. This is how they made a -7C bag at 816 grams (on my scale), unless they make it very restrictive or use very expensive 900+ down. So know what the bag is about, and it will work great if you don't move too much at night or if you can turn inside the bag without turning the bag. I spent 2 nights in -5 to 0C conditions on a glacier with no issue with the bag.
I had a Blue Kazoo from years back and was very happy with it. This new design is absolutely terrible. There is literally zero down on the bottom of the bag meaning if you roll over in the night for whatever reason, you will have no insulation on the top of you thus causing you to freeze. I have never seen a bag with down chambers set like this on only the top of the bag. True it might cut down on a minuscule amount of weight and better compression but at a MAJOR cost to the user. I got into trouble with the bag as I used the bag for the first time on a Northern BC trip in Sept with temps around 0*C (well above rating). Uploaded picture shows the missing down on the bottom of the bag, held up to light you can see through the nylon and this is the same on the entire bottom section.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really good and really warm no problems sleeping outside it kept me very confortable with snow conditions and wind,no leaks and full of warm stuff inside, its a good quality sleeping bag for the mountain or the beach!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There must be something wrong with this run of Blue Kazoos. That's the only way I can explain the giant gaps in insulation in the bag. I got in the bag at home to try it out and instantly noticed the amount of light streaming through to the inside. The reviewer below took a great photo, the entire bag looks like that. Not sure what happened with the quality control but until North Face fixes it, I'd avoid this bag. Its too bad since otherwise the bag was the dimensions and temp rating I was looking for. I returned it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used a brand new Blue Kazoo, long size for car camping (slept in a tent) in the Sierra Nevada last fall at 7,000 feet and froze in it Only slept in it for a few hours - luckily my camping party had an extra much older Blue Kazoo bag and I slipped into it and slept warm for the rest of the night. A close inspection of the new bag next morning revealed very little goose down in the channels and the draft tube. Daylight was clearly visible through the shell of the bag in all channels. The bag was defective, Obviously the bag was not providing insulation according to its rating/specification of 15 degrees Fahrenheit in 50 degrees weather. Now I am faced with the challenge of trying to return the bag (practically brand new) to the North Face, but I had bought it over one year before I used it for the first time, and I am not sure I have the sales receipt. Do not buy this model - very bad craftmanship.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took this sleeping bag with me to Big Sur for the weekend. It can run a bit hot if you're not within the 20-30 degree threshold, but it's held up well and given me a good nights sleep. Exactly what I was looking for in a light weight sleeping bag. I wish it packed down smaller but I still have plenty of room for other gear.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] North Face is fashion, gone is the rugged quality. White sleeping bags w/ few selections, no, full length zipper for venting foot box. This is not a 20 degree bag. You have to not use it for a return.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As people in the reviews before said, this bag is terrible. I was cold at 40F. It has huge gaps, and there's no way it's 700 fill down. Packs light, but has no warmth and made cheaply. Disappointed.
Cheaply made. Poor design. Overpriced. TNF used to lead the industry. Sad. Drafty bag with low quality down.
