Best purchase this year!

So happy I purchased! I feel like when worn as either the vest or jacket it makes any plain old leggings/athleisure outfit look extra cool. I love the oversized style, quilting and huge pockets! It is also much warmer than I anticipated and I can see wearing this throughout the whole winter (in Wisconsin) with good layering-plus late into spring and fall as the vest. I do agree with other reviews that it runs very oversized. I went with my usual small and probably could have gone with an xsmall and still been able to layer underneath. Would love to see lighter more neutral colors in the future since the quilting stands out so much more on the lighter colors!

I really didn't expect to love this as much as I do

When I first saw this item, I didn't really think much of it as I'm quite petite. However, I recently was looking at it again and was like hey I think it might be cute. And OMG it is. I love it most in vest mode. I also like that it is a longer length. At first, I was looking at it and was like huh why isn't the shorter or even cropped but I feel like the longer length and that classic slightly oversized halfdays look really gives this jacket a cool girl vibe. I am 4"11 but I don't think this is overwhelming on me and in fact looks cool AF. A shock I know! If you're petite, I would totally give this a shot as there are free returns. To note, I think if you're both thinner and shorter, then I think this might be overwhelming. I'm short but have more meat on my bones so I think that's why this item doesnt swallow me. If you're tall or mid height, I think this should be flattering on for pretty much all body sizes. Due to hEDS, I live in comfy clothes. Halfdays allows me to look and feel cute while being crazy comfortable. I physically can't do strenuous hikes because of my hEDS, so I can't speak on using this for intense hiking. However, for my needs I can see myself using this for light walks, to run errands or throwing on top of some workout clothes for physical therapy. I think this is a great piece that leans more technical than fashionable if you want something hyper practical but still attractive. This material feels way sturdier than the Nellie puffer. It's more heavy duty and I can see this lasting a long time. If you're someone like me who overheats even in cold weather, this is a great pick for you. Glad I picked this up! I wanted to also commend halfdays for their details. I love that their logo is never screaming at you and they add matching colors zippers, zipper helpers, and matching colored lining in their items. As someone with hand mobility issues, those zipper helpers are a godsend. Even if they don't have those pull helpers their normal zippers have grip on them. Such a small detail but but thanks so much for that accessibility feature from a disabled girly. Lastly, shout out the their founder Ariana and their support staff. I find any time I had a problem, they genuinely seemed like they cared and really went above and beyond for me. I had a couple of faulty items due to a quality control issue/facility they were using, but all has been resolved. In addition, they definitely took note and I haven't had a quality issue since. I was told they even added extra quality control issues as well. Love this brand

Cute but size down!

I love the idea of a multifunctional piece and the Davis, once you find the correct sizing, fits the bill. The various pockets are reminiscent of Barbour jackets, super convenient for when you don't want to bring a bag or purse. The weight is great, I see myself using this jacket year round in Colorado. I am a true size small in Halfdays gear and ended up sizing down to an XS. I still have plenty of room for a large layer even with sizing down. It's cute and a unique style with the oversized vest option. Just glad it didn't come in navy or forest green because I would've had to buy those too!!

Versatile Jacket

I love this jacket and its versatility! The fabric is so smooth and comfortable and has nice large pockets which I appreciate. I also really like that it can convert into a vest for warmer days. I’m 5’4” 150 lbs and a M fit great! It easily has room for a jacket underneath if needed.

Nice jacket, practical with a little flair

I bought this in an XS, normally wear a S, thanks to the other reviews, and it was perfect. It fits great despite the fact that I am 5'3" and a lot shorter than the model wearing it. I have only just gotten it, so can't speak to the zipper problem that some apparently have had, but like the style and color [mustang], although am not wild about the two front patch pockets because of the added bulk, and they are just a tad too high when accessed from the top. I do like the fact that the sleeves are removable, though. I think I will get a lot of wear from it as the winters tend to be relatively mild here [Maryland] and it would appear to be about the right weight. It is a little stiff right now, but suspect that will improve with washing.

Almost a great idea...

I really love the idea of this jacket and the fit is great for a pear shape like me. The weight is also great for PNW winter. I have two issues, and the first is my main gripe: the sleeves unzip them selves! For me one does it more than the other, but they both gradually unzip, and it's even more drastic if you move your arms around a lot. This could be completely eliminated if there was a clip or something at the end of the zips. This loses two entire stars for me because it's such a major design flaw. Such a shame! My second more minor issue is the color selection - the colors are cute but it's a really limited palette and the only relatively neutral option that doesn't look awful with my warm olivey skin tone is boring black, which is what I ended up with.

Most amazing jacket!!

This jacket is worth every penny!! What a great gem— it’s got a great weather-proof fabric but it’s not too heavy, and it keeps me so warm!! I love having the zip off sleeves because it’s one less article of clothing to pack in my suitcase. I love oversized things, but I was able to order my regular size because the jacket is (fashionably) boxy and long enough to where i can still layer underneath. I could not recommend this jacket enough!! For reference, I’m 5’8” 125 lb and the small works wonderfully.

Arm zippers DO lock.

I was really hesitant to buy this jacket based off the reviews that complained about the arm sleeves unzipping on their own. But I'm glad I went for it. I love the fit and style. The zippers on the sleeves have a locking slider. When you zip on the arms, you want to make sure the tab of the zipper pull is in the "down position" to make sure it locks in place. Hope this helps others!
