[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy with this jacket, it truly proved to surpass any other ski jacket I have ever worn! It kept me comfortably warm in both cold power days & bluebird sunny climates. The features are incredibly high quality like the zippers, the belt that made me feel so feminine, & the hood that could be tightened in many ways. Highly recommend! So much love for this company!
I'm an experienced skier (that also loves beautiful garments - sue me), so it's often a struggle between fashionable and functional. You can tell it was designed by women FOR women. Every detail is well thought out: phone pocket with a lanyard, big enough waist pockets that won't make it impossible to sit on a lift with it full, a wrist pocket for your chapstick and pass. I am 5'9" and 130lbs and got a M at first in the deep green color (I have broad shoulders - true hourglass). While it is fine (both looks and fit), I could have definitely taken a S given the belt. It snatched my waist regardless, though! I got a S in Forget Me Not. If you think you're in between sizes, go with the smaller one. The jacket is stretchy enough in the right places. It's not the thickest jacket I've worn, but appreciate that as a Tahoe native skier. Would suggest a thicker wool base layer and a slim running jacket underneath for sub zero skiing.
I am 5’9” and a size 12; got the 1x. Fits my arms and shoulders perfectly, a little big around the waist so I just cinch the belt and tuck the excess fabric toward my back. Absolute perfection! I was warm, dry, and easily spotted on the mountain all day in Spritz.
As an over-fifty, unskinny lady with hips and an hourglass shape, I absolutely adore my Aston (Granita shade). It's chic, flattering, true-to-size, highly functional and warm enough for days below freezing. I might add a thin fleece on below twenty-ish days. The inner breast pockets and outer cellphone pocket w/leash are perfecto. I normally wear size 14 on top and 16 on the bottom (depending on the brand). The XL fit very well with my Isabel snow pants in XL. When the pink is available, I'll scoop it up, too. LOVE the Aston.
I courted this jacket online for almost a year before committing. It's tricky finding great gear when your a larger size that doesn't compromise on style or function. And am so glad I did commit. It's fantastic, great functionality, great weight, and so flattering. My favourite bit is how understated it is, no blaring of branding, classy stylish and full of so many practical features. I get asked where I got it constantly. Can't recommend it highly enough.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am absolutely obsessed with my Halfdays outfit. I was looking for a comfortable, warm, well made ski jacket and this is it! I got it in a 1x and I’m a size 16/18 and it fit great. It truly made me feel comfortable on the slopes and I’m excited to wear my cute fit for years to come. Thank you Halfdays for being size inclusive at a reasonable price point for great quality skiwear.
so functional and flattering! Pockets galore, most days didn’t need a mid layer and was warm just with my base layer on the top of the mountain.
Got lots of compliments, paired this with the black soft shell pants. Warm and flattering!
I chose the The Aston because it was a female owned company, she’s a stylish piece and plus size friendly. If you know, you know, the struggle to find plus size inclusive ski gear is a chore and so far I have liked the jacket far more than any of the MANY I have tried. I want to be warm, comfortable and stylish on the slopes and this jacket checks those boxes for me. The ONLY thing is that the collar is high on me which is nice for zipping to cover your face on a bad condition day but I have a short neck and it’s a little too stiff and tall for me personally. However, given that it checks everything else off for me I can look past that.
I can't say enough good things about this jacket. I wore it for a week skiing in Utah where it was both cold and snowy. At 5'2" I was a little concerned this jacket would swallow me up, but the fit it perfect and the thing I most love is the belt. It creates a nice silhouette. Pocket placement was prefect with the pass pocket on the arm and lots of others too. I did wear a slim down puffer underneath since it was so cold, but depending on if you run hot or cold, you may not need it.
