Maternity hiking pants don’t exist! I tried on so many different pants until I found these! I bought these for a babymoon backpacking trip when I was about 17 weeks pregnant in hopes that the stretchy waistband would be more forgiving on my bump and more comfortable. They were great! I was able to wear them lower on my hips and they continued to fit for a few more weeks! I sized up one size to be comfortable and was able to wear them on some postpartum hikes too! The side pockets fit my phone very easily which was convenient to be able to have my phone accessible to get quick pictures!
I wanted pants with functional pockets and these pants can't be beat in terms of pockets. Every one of the six pockets, even the zippered hidden pocket and the two narrow pockets down the thigh, can fit a large smartphone in a case (the largest Galaxy phone) and are sufficiently deep. No more worries about phones falling out of pants pockets when sitting down or rock scrambling. I slid down rough rocks in these pants multiple times and they still look as good as new. These pants are worth the very reasonable price for the pockets and durability. Took a star off because they're... ugly. The navy ones attract and show dust really well and have a chintzy shine, which is worse where the pants crease or bunch up at the ankles. Speaking of ankles, the elastics bulge and they look uneven and wrinkly. You can see a bit of it in the product photos too, and they look worse if you're shorter than the model (and if so the pants are wrinkly overall and create blocky, harsh lines.) The stone green pants, though bland, look a bit better: at least they don't show dust as much and don't have that shine. They just look really practical for hiking; I wouldn't wear these around town. They're probably good to wear on the plane with stuffed pockets. They're quite comfortable, just enough stretch, no scratchy or hard parts. I'm most often M or L in pants and the M fit right. Elastic waist is soft and comfortable and a perfect fit, though of course fit varies by person. Again, these are the best pants in terms of practicality; I won't ever need other pants for hiking and climbing unless I find pants that have all this functionality and also look more fashionable. Heartily recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great pants for hiking or walking! Love the pockets. J usually wear an XL and it was slightly big I am going to try a Large. But the XL might be worth keeping at least one pair to layer under (44” hip for reference). I havent had a pair of proper hiking pants ever just leggings and jogger and I dont know why I waited so long. These are great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Im a small 142lbs 5”10 but the waistband is slightly big. I love the color I wish this color came in the Leslie II style with the button. My booty look good in these pants. The bottom is not flattering for those with skinny calves
Bought these for a spontaneous trip to Death Valley and Zion. Terrific for hiking! Easy dry when they got wet, very comfortable for hiking and climbing. Zipper pocket was very convenient for keeping cell phone from falling. Absolutely love and will order in other colors available!
These pants are so comfortable and flattering which I didn’t expect at all. I want 10 more pairs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect match of Fit and Function! As a long legged 5'8" 170lb 68 year old I am done with comprimise and being pinched in the middle. The pictures do not do these pants justice. With the leg drawstring open, these pants cover my ankles and look smart, not just sporty. The pockets are divine and do not gap when not in use. I could carry my phone, keys, sun glasses and garden spade all at the same time. These will be great for travel. Just ordered 2 more pairs. More colors and summer fabic Please!
They’re great - I wear them all the time & bought a second pair.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I like these pants. They fit true to size and the material is light, stretchy, and comfortable. I like the wide waist band and it doesn't seem like it will stretch out. There seems to be extra material in the front though, making the front of the pants baggy and the pockets pooch out. I got the gold/brown color and it's OK, just not very neutral and won't match tons of things. I might order another pair in a different color.
Love these pants! I have gotten many compliments on them from my family. I’m thin so I got the XS and the fit great. Not too tight but fitted enough to to be flattering not feel like your wearing hiking pants. There are tons of pockets and I mean pockets that actually hold things including your phone! Thanks Columbia cause in women’s pants this is a rare feature these days. I do wish there were more color variations.
