I wanted to like these boots. There wasn’t any break in period, very comfortable- like running shoes on steroids. BUT in my opinion the tongue has way too much padding- I know that might sound odd. But what happens is since the tongue is so thick it can not properly stay in place - it immediately just sticks out which makes the padding not effective at all PLUS it make the boots far less supportive. I had to return them for this reason. Even the Salomon trail shoes I got years ago the tongue does the exact same thing. Because of this issue I hardly wear them. I was hoping these new boots would be better unfortunately they were not. I have been and hiking and backpacking all my life - virtually over 40 years. In that time backpacking all over the US. Over the years extensive experience with many different style boots. Hope this is helpful for anyone looking at these.

I was on a 12 day elk and I was bragging how great the boots were until the second last day I noticed the outside side wall seem pulled apart. Hopefully they get replaced because they were very comfortable.

I have had 3 pairs in as many months and each pair has leaked.
I needed some waterproof, comfortable boots that are anti slip and could handle different terrain for a recent trip to Iceland. The boots handled everything really well. I'd consider Iceland to be an excellent place to test all aspects of these boots with plenty of opportunity for hiking, walking on sand, ice, mud, rocks etc. the only criticism I would have of the boots is that they are snug (guessing due to the goretex sock) and that they rub a little on your leg above your ankle. Plus points are they're super lightweight and very comfortable soles. I could wear them for many hours all day and wouldn't feel fatigued in my feet.
A very comfortable hiking shoe that I wore during long-distance hikes in South Africa. Excellent support around my ankle and I enjoyed the extra external cushioned heel support. With the varying terrains the added areas in the collar and tongue increased the foot-hugging comfort, provided stability and balance.
An incredible boot that is slightly smaller than size states. Incredibly comfy, especially with plantar fasciitis. Gtech is brilliant. The fit is good and the comfort is incredible. Check out my YouTube channel for a review.
lasted an hour before splitting, luckily I noticed as I was packing them for my trip to Nepal

Needed the up and down cushioning for the hike and these crushed it.
I took these shoes out on a 3 day trip in Utah and overall they were great. The rocker arch support was very comfortable to walk in. I didn't feel like they had to be broken in at all and they didn't give me any issues with blisters. The toe box does run on the narrower side and by the end of the trip by pinky toes felt squeezed. They were quite warm, especially hiking in Utah. I wouldn't recommend them for any dead of summer hiking but anywhere in cooler temps or even with snow they would excel.
I got these for Christmas but didn’t put them to the test until July when I embarked on a (presently 2 months in) trek through BC. I’ve done a solid amount of day hikes in them and been overall pleased with their comfort and the confidence I feel with their traction and stability. That said, today we went for a hike on Vancouver Island following an evening of rain - not actively raining on the hike at all - and my feet got beyond soaked. I questioned myself, “I THOUGHT these were touted as waterproof”, and now checking back, they are. Soaked through just from damp brush; 6kms in at the summit I had to take them off and actually dump water out and wring my socks. All this is to say very comfortable and great grip, but absolutely don’t buy these with any expectations of dryness for inclement days.
